Lucybell33's Journal, 07 June 2008

I'm not sure this will stick over the weekend for Monday's official weigh-in, but had to record it here for posterity. It's taken almost exactly 11 months, but I've now lost 5 stone (70lbs) to reach my goal weight!!!

I had another personal shopper session on Thursday afternoon to try to put together my final UK size 8 (US size 6) summer wardrobe, although most importantly to buy a nice dress for Finlay's birthday party. I couldn't decide between two, so bought both for hubby to help me choose and returned the second choice one yesterday. While we were waiting for the refund to go through I got chatting to the girls about what the dress was for etc, and one of them expressed surprise at spending so much money (£95/$180) on a dress for a 2nd birthday party. However, when I explained that at his 1st birthday party I'd weighed 5 stone heavier and worn a UK size 20 (US size 18) outfit, they understood completely!

And since I'm still feeling nostalgic after Wednesday's wedding anniversary, here's one more photo from our wedding day:

139.8 lb Lost so far: 70.2 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

I love reading all the journals but yours is one of the best, better than any of them in the magazines, you deserve an award because all your detailed journals inspire so many others to do the same. You gp ahead and enjoy this weekend,it'll go down in your memory as one of the best and take many many photos we would all like to see some. Put on a lovely family pic and one of you in your dress, i bet you look wonderful, you certainly know what suits you. And I do have to say, I think we all know when we're not happy with our shape it has a tendancy to show up in our clothes choice, (baggy type, cover up, don't look this way at me ones!) You go for it and get a full new wardrobe, you deserve it and if you liked your other choice, I know it would have been expensive but it just might go down in the sale, think about treating yourself to it, your goal is in sight. Have a really wonderful weekend and all the best wishes to you, your hubby and for your little boys 2nd birthday, :) x Denise

Awww - thanks Denise! The party's actually next Saturday, but you can be sure there will be some photos posted here to mark the occasion! Funnily enough, we had originally planned to have the party today, but my brother-in-law couldn't do this weekend, so we postponed it a week. I just hope the weather is as good this time next week!! :)

Size 6..size 6?? Do you know that a British size 6 is an American size 4..or are you converting for American readers? My god girl..you are the goddess of inspiration. I wish you would write a blog or journal detailing how you managed it, because I certainly need some tips. Again, more beautiful pictures that just make my heart melt and sigh with happiness. I guess I am a total romantic because I just enjoy your pic so much. It so wonderful to see two people who are so much in love like you both are. Thanks so much for sharing such personal pics, I feel really honored that you must consider us close enough to share with. Have a wonderful weekend darling.

Thank you all for your congratulations - it's such a liberating feeling to have reached my goal. I've been trying to lose weight for 10 years now, and I can't tell you how great it feels to finally have done it, and now I'm ready and raring to commence maintenance! Nisa - I've been a member of this site since September last year, and I've shared things with you all that I wouldn't share with anyone else - and that is why I feel like you are all my good friends, and why I wanted to share some of my most precious memories with you. And yes - don't worry, I translated the dress size - I'll edit to make this clear! I really have no need or desire to go any smaller than a UK 8 / US 6, as much as anything because that's the smallest size available in my favourite brands like Coast and Designers at Debenhams!! :)

Finally I will get around to congratulating you here too... I did read earlier, but had to rush off and make you a congratulations message that I could post somewhere!! So I'm glad you liked the CONGRATULATIONS that I posted in my own journal today. Woohoo, you DID it girl and I am SO VERY PROUD of you! ;o) Let's just say earlier I teared up too when I read that you had hit goal... as I just know how much that means (when I am so near too!) - OMG, teary again, but I really am so thrilled and happy for you! Lol... thank you too for letting me know I'd gone blue too... hee-hee, I hadn't noticed, but woohoo... nearly there! I look forward to sharing maintenance with you shortly... I'm going to continue losing for the To Infinity & Beyond challenge and see where it takes me. Thank you for all your support though and for being both my inspiration and motivator. Enjoy that maintaining... you deserve it! Hugs Sue xx
