I have been struggling to lose weight seriously for about 7 years. I am a full time wife and mother of 2 girls, 6 and 4 yrs old, and I work 2 days per week as a dental hygienist. Every time I went to a Dr for help or to find relief from the pain I was getting in my feet, each one looked me in the eye and told me: "exercise and lose weight and your feet will quit hurting". I found out Sept '06 that I have advanced neuropathy in both feet, probably caused by a neurological disorder inherited from my mom, called CMT. Needless to say, it causes excruciating pain in both feet, that won't allow me to even walk a couple of blocks with the need to stop or go sit down.

Sooooo, my exercise is very limited and everyones answer it to go swimming. However, with two little girls and not a lot of extra cash to spend for extra daycare, it's been extremely difficult to incorporate much exercise, as many you moms already know! lol If your feet hurt, you can also count on your hips, back and neck hurting as well.

I do eat fairly well, however, I'm sure there is room for improvement! I did South Beach along with my parents for a few months about a year ago and lost about 20lbs. It was difficult to stick to with hubby not following it and kids that want everything that is not on the diet.

I am willing to go at it again because I know it's a great plan and my good friend is going to do it with me! I so very much need the support of others, and this seems like it will be the easiest to adapt to our busy lifestyle. I know that I need to incorporate some exercise that my feet can tolerate, and the pounds will start slipping off. I want to be a healthy momma and watch my girls get married and have babies someday... which means I need to be healthy now!

Trip to Vegas
I might be interested, but doubtful I'd bring the kids! Surprised It'll depend on finances, for sure, though.

SUN-E-BEACHERS *YELLOW TEAM* FOR THE BEACH CHALLENGE
Gosh, sorry!!! I just realized that I forgot to post here!! Shock

MINI CHALLENGE REPORT

*I was able to create a Chinese inspired recipe for myself at lunch the other day.

1 multi grain wrap
2 slices smoked ham
2 slices smoked turkey breast
6 slices (2 each of) red/yellow/orange pepper
1 tbsp cream cheese (spread on tortilla 1st)
2 tsp balsamic vinaigrette drizzled

Roll it up and enjoy! Smile

I have a liking for these sweet peppers and they seem to be a good fall back for me to get some veggies in. Thankfully, the Chinese use many different veggies! Bad Grin

MINI CHALLENGE UPDATE:

Hope this entry is not too late!!

I had intended to ride my bike, but that didn't happen, I am still in need of a seat.

HOWEVER, I did my water exercising with the girls for about 3 hours this afternoon. I'm not sure if that is enough, since I've only done it 2 or 3 times this week. That's the best I can do for an Olympic event. You could call it "UN-synchronized SWIMMING"!! Surprised LOL Bad Grin

Happy Friday ALL!!

GO SUN-E-BEACHERS!!
