Parmesan Chips

Crunchy chips that are great as a snack or tossed into a salad for a little extra crunch.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat an 8" sauté pan over medium heat.
  2. Sprinkle half the cheese evenly in the pan forming a "pancake".
  3. Leave the "pancake" 2 to 3 minutes until melted and flip with a spatula.
  4. Brown the second side.
  5. Remove from pan to cutting board.
  6. While still warm cut into triangles with a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
  7. Repeat with remaining cheese.

These things are great, I have been making them for years. I find it much easier to bake them on a non-stick cookie sheet.

Maybe I cooked it too long, but the chips had a really strong gross flavor like burnt cheese, but I cooked it like it said 2-3 min. and they didn't look burnt at all. Next time I will cook it for a shorter time. I did love that these seemed like actual chips and my boyfriend couldn't even tell that it was cheese!!!

These are great on salads or with soups! I only have good luck with the shredded, not grated. Of course, just about any cheese will do!

I tried it with the grated parmesan, and it was a gloppy mess...wouldn't melt. I think the shredded would be a better option.
