Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Pepper Poppers

These little gems are outstanding!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cut stems off of peppers and cut them all in half longways. Remove the seeds and membranes from peppers.
  2. Mix cheddar cheese with cream cheese. Fill each pepper with the cream cheese mixture.
  3. Wrap 1/2 slice bacon around each pepper half. Place on a foiled (cooking spray such as Pam) lined baking sheet.
  4. Place in a 450° F (230° C). oven for 10-15 minutes or until bacon is fully cooked.
  5. Remove and serve when cool enough to safely eat.

I think if you used Turkey bacon fat free or reduced fat cream cheese and reduced chedder these would be a lot better for you. I am a big fan of jalepeno poppers too!

I have been making these poppers for years but without the cheddar cheese. I will definitely try it with the cheddar.

You should not use low fat products whilst on atkins as they contain much more carbs - as they usually replace the fat with sugar ! pure unrefined sugar is bad for blood sugar level and causes increased appetite. Hence low fat products actually cause food cravings - full fat cheese is much more likely to satisfy you and keep the food carvings at bay. Fab recipe by the way !
