I'm 32 and have been overweight forever. The lowest I've been as an adult was 175lbs. I have done most diets and do have success, but when I reach a plateau I normally slack off and eventually quit, which then brings the weight back. I have 3 wonderful stepchildren and just want to not only have more energy to keep up with them, but I do want a child of my own in the next few years, and I want to be healthy for that. Probably my biggest problem is I HATE HATE HATE vegetables and I LOVE sugar :)
Since joining FS I've lost over 30 lbs and have started eating (but still not really liking) veggies and I am currently training for my first 5K run. I am at that 'plateau' stage and getting discouraged so I am adding the following GOALS to help keep me motivated:

GOAL #1: 210 lbs - get new dress I REALLY want
GOAL #2: 200 lbs - new shoes AND clothes
GOAL #3: 190 lbs - weekend trip w/hubby
GOAL #4: 175 lbs - more clothes and shoes
GOAL #5: 169 lbs - would no longer be considered 'OBESE' ... I am still thinking of a GOOD reward for this one!!
GOAL #6: 160 lbs - BEACH TRIP -even if its during the winter :D
GOAL #7: 141 lbs - would be considered NORMAL BMI .... I need to PARTY for that one.. a pool party with me in a bikini!

Last night my hubby made stir fry with califlower, broccoli, chicken breast, black bean paste, garlic, sugar snap peas, bamboo shoots and whole green beans ( think that was all) and cabbage wraps with chicken, shiitake mushrooms, silver noodles, water chestnuts, celery, green onion, carrots and black bean paste.
Did I like it?? NO but i ate it Very Happy I like mexican and italian food MUCH better than asian!

And I've ran 3 times this week (running is all new to me!) and brushed the dust off the rowing machine and have gone at that a couple times ... i don't have a boat so thats as close as i can get to rowing Very Happy

and the scales show.......NOTHING Sad again but i've measured again and have lost several inches.

I have stuck with everything this week!! I've eaten tomatoes and berries and have taken brown rice and collard greens to work for lunch and i'm doing salad today and i can't say i'm liking fruit and veggies more, but i'm eating ALOT more than i ever have and they're tolerable!
AND even though I walk for exercise sometimes, this monday i joined a running group to train for a 5K in october so i've actually RAN on monday and wed so far this week, and will do it again tomorrow morning. I was trying to think of what olympic sport to do then it hit me, DUH you're RUNNING!!! and I probably haven't run a mile since high school!! I'm sore as can be but i'm happy Smile BUT we having a ROWING attachment for the exercise machine and I thought about adding that in this week too!
AND my wonderful husband is cooking us chinese tonight ... i'll post recipe when i find out what we're having Very Happy
the only thing that sucks is i'm PMSing and so nasty bloated i think it would take a miracle to have a loss Crying or Very sad

This has been a tough week ... i havent kept up w/the journeling or posting because my birthday was wednesday and it was the first one since my mom died in february, so its been a very emotional week for me ... i did the exercise but didnt stick with the diet/veggies but i'm recommiting now and starting monday i'm training for a 5K in October so i'm super excited about that!

Did anybody take measurements before their weight loss journey began?
YES EVERYONE SHOULD MEASURE!!!! I was at a scale stand still for almost 2mths and sooooooo discouraged, but ppl kept telling me 'wow you're looking great' and i'd say 'i havent lost anything in weeks', so i decided to measure and had lost over 10 inches overall! and i'm finally off the plateau and losing again, but that couple of monthes where I was really just tightening/toning up really helped(even though it IS frustrating to not see numbers going down!)

did my walk 2min/ run 2.5min today ... and made it all the way thru the first 3 runs, but didnt make it 2mins on the last run .. but thats BIG improvement ...
