Chay I can really recommend the nhs change 4 life it has loads of great cheap ideas for food that is health but on a real budget. They also once you have joined them send you loads of stuff like activity packs, free swim/activity session and money off/freebie vouchers for healthy foods such as fruit and low sugar/fat products. Wink

I think it can be really hard to make healthy choices on a restricted budget - we did it for many years and it can be hard with hungry mouths not to buy the shops own biscuits and crisps which are way cheaper than bags of fruit Sad

caloric breakdown
A little off track but in the uk it is said the health of the nation was at its best during and just after the food rationing that took place during the second world war. The rationed diet was carb heavy but with the carbs coming from vegetables mainly with set portions of bread, meat, eggs, dairy and sugar per person. Once rationing was eased out body weight and life style related illnesses such as heart disease and diabetes have steadily increased.
Not a recommendation for a diet so much but I do think if your carbs are coming from lots of nutrient and vitamin packed vegetables that it can`t be such a bad thing Smile

Just a Reminder
This made me smile.....I saw my children for the first time in five longs weeks and both said how much thinner I looked (no I didn`t prompt or pay them lol!). I know I have lost weight because i can see it and the arrow on the scale is very slowly going down but nothing is so nice as someone else seeing it Smile

Looking some kind words to get moving
Maybe some mini goals may help? I no longer think of the end picture because when I think about is seems so unachievable. At the moment it is really helping to plan my meals for the next day. It seems to really give me focus and puts the brake on my hand trailing to the biscuit tin Wink

Best of the weather is getting a little nicer now so I am walking about more - every little helps.
