Lucybell33's Journal, 15 May 2008

I've been avoiding journalling for the past couple of days, because I've been very bad. Not bad in the usual way, but bad nonetheless.

I've started exercising again, despite being told to leave it 2-4 weeks after my surgery... I managed 11 days with no exercise, and that was plenty - I couldn't wait any longer! However, I am taking it slowly, and not doing anything too vigorous - and all with the help of my shiny new Wii Fit!!! Yup - hubby decided Tuesday was a good day to give it to me (we always mark the 13th of each month, because we met on the 13th of a month!), and it's great fun! I'm really aching, but just SO relieved to be feeling my muscles working again!!

No movement on the weight front for the last week, but it's currently TOM, so I'm sure I'll see a drop in a couple of days. I've been sticking to my diet plan 100%, although that's another reason I was desperate to start exercising again - I need more food!! I tell you - the exercise diary is a godsend for motivation. When you can see the total calories burned going up as you add more exercise, it just makes you want to do more and more - exercise = more food = happier Leanne!!

Sorry I've been a rubbish buddy this week. All this Wii-ing has been eating into my fatsecreting time!! I have been thinking of you all, and will do my best to catch up with you all ASAP! :)

Lol... I had noticed!!!! Bad girl. ;o) But we can't scold you for wanting to exercise and I'm sure that if you're taking it gentle you will be absolutely fine. Aw, great to hear that hubby has given you the Wii Fit... that sounds great fun! I agree though, the exercise diary is indeed great for motivation and you know that you are doing ok when you keep a nice calorie/burn ratio. You keep those calories burning and have fun Wii Fitting!! ;o)

I think I need to get me a wee Wii too! Of course I will use the kids as an excuse! (Fatsecret has its own little wee Wii..his name is Dave22 LOL) Dont do too much after surgery..docs do know somethings and a stitch in time saves nine. (I did exercise too soon after a caeserean and the stitches nearly started to split!) Take care of yourself buddy and hope the weather there is much more cheerful than the London weather here. Oh by the way...SEXXXY PIC!!

Thanks guys!! It's is great fun - I highly recommend it! I promise I am being careful. I'm sure the doctor really meant to stay away from things like tennis, running, etc. I did try to get more specifics from him, but when I asked him how soon I could start doing pilates, he didn't even know what that was! :o

I love how you think that exercising a few days before the doctor recommended 2 weeks is being "very bad"! That just proves how rewired your mind is now to be missing the exercise (and extra food!) so much. You're doing great if that is your only transgression! I know how addicting new "toys" can be. Enjoy your Wii to the fullest and check in when you can!

Evelyn - LOL, I guess I was a little over-the-top - guess I'm not much of a rule-breaker generally! mbhpro - Wii Fit is new, just released on 25th April. It comprises a balance board you use to do various exercise, like yoga, lunges, sit-ups, etc. It also weighs you. The "game" organises and records all the activity for you and tracks your weight/BMI progress - there are graphs and everything, which I love! Sharon - it's since I really started feeling and seeing the difference in my muscles that I've got so addicted to the exercise - I don't want to lose the muscle tone I've worked so hard to develop, and there still plenty of work to do yet! :)
