performance: losing 3.6 lb a week

I have been on every diet known to man....twice. Seriously, if you were to name a diet, I was either on it or one just like it at some point in my life. I have never been one to keep the weight off. And I have never been one to exercise. So I am focusing my efforts on the exercise first and diet second this time around in hopes of beating the monster once and for all.
I have had some big changes in my life this past year but now everything has settled down and I feel ready to make a commitment. I know the first couple of weeks is always the hardest. Fortunately, my family want to join me and lose weight and exercise right along with me. That will be a huge motivator for me. Wish me luck!

WEEK 6 CHALLENGE
What have I learned from being on fatsecret? So much! Let me think...

I've learned that journalling is a vital tool to help me stay on track by keeping me motivated and in a positive frame of mind with all of the wonderful feedback from my buddies.

I've learned that I can have great friends in people I've never met who live thousands of miles away.

I've learned that we all share so much of the same struggles with our weight loss and lives in general. It is very comforting to know that we are not alone - that it's not just us.

I've learned some fabulous recipes and food ideas from my fatsecret buddies and the wider community through challenges, the kitchen and ideas shared through journals.

I learned the importance and value of exercise from my fatsecret friends. And I would probably have never started running had I not heard of the C25K program through a post on here.

I've learned the value of conscious eating. I used to be the fastest eater and always seemed to finish first, no matter what we were eating. I have learned to enjoy the food and savor the taste to let my tummy have time to register it's full. It has really helped me control my portions and overall intake.

I have also learned that fatsecret is addicting! At times I would let other things slide (like housework!) so I could have more time to check up on my buddies. I am trying to learn a bit more balance.

I have learned so much about my inner self: my triggers for eating; my emotional disturbers; my patterns of behaviour; and much more I can't even think of right now!

Most of all, I've learned that this is a lifelong journey, not just a few months where I have to change my behaviour and then go back to my old ways. I have learned there is so much I needed to change about how I behave with food and how I treat my body. And I've accepted that this is something that I will have the rest of my life to perfect as I won't ever be able to go back to my old ways. The new me is here to stay!Very Happy

Got water?
But what I understood was the sample group had the problem but it was unknown to the coordinators that the people had been drinking the large quantities of water beforehand. They only discovered the amount of water they were drinking AFTER they conducted the study. The fact that the proteins went away after reducing the water intake would indicate that the high water intake was the reason for the proteins.

Got water?
smallboned, from what I gathered from the article, the people had high protein output in their urine BECAUSE they were drinking too much water. It wasn't discovered that this was the case until the doctors put them on a restrictive water intake and the protein levels returned to normal. At least, that is what I understood it to mean.

Got water?
4 litres might be cause for concern. The link to an article below speaks of a dangerous side effect people who drank that much experienced. Also, if you are thirsty all the time which is making you drink the water, it can be a sign of high blood sugar (and possibly some other things). You might want to consider lowering your intake and/or getting checked out at your doc.

Basic Metabolic Needs
It's hard to translate that into WW points because there are many things that have some calories but are 0 points (i.e. most veggies, etc.). I don't think the two systems would jive.
