I am a 36 year old mother of 3 who developed terrible eating habits while pregnant. To top it off,I was laid off and have been running a daycare, where I am constantly preparing food and snacks for the kids. I also am stuck in my house all day with lots of good things to eat.

I had given up on losing the weight, thinking it was no longer possible with my reduced metabolism due to my age. Then I started dancing and it started to come off. Shortly after, a friend told me about this website, where it all came off.

I had at one point been below my goal weight and when I'm below that weight I don't make myself log my food and calories, as I've developed new, healthier habits. Recently I started breaking these habits, so I'm back on board until I get them licked.

Even when it's all off again (Oh yes, it will be) I plan to continue to visit this site to keep me grounded.

Good food
One of my favorites is buying edamame (soybeans) in the frozen food section. If possible, get the ones in the shell, steam them, salt them, and bit them out of the pod. Not only are they healthy, easy to prepare, and easy to keep on hand if frozen, they are a little putsy to eat and leave you with a big pile of shells so you feel like you eat a lot more than you actually do. Even my kids beg for them, and they hate veggies.

HELP! I need telling off before I ruin today :(
When I find myself eating too much during TOM, it's not that I'm actually hungry, I just want to put something in my mouth. I found it helps to brush me teeth (so everything tastes gross) or chewing gum to give my mouth something to do that's not eating. If you actually are hungry, just log it and make sure you don't go overboard or drink lots of fluids.

Mcdonalds big tasty with bacon - 890 calories !!!
When I was in highschool I worked at burger king and was amazed at not only how much fat and calories were in some of the burgers, but also how many people were clueless. I had a guy who I knew was on a diet come in and order the chicken sandwich (breaded and deep fried) thinking it was a healhty option. Or a woman who ordered the chef salad with 2 dressings. There was more fat in her salad than in a double whopper with cheese! Yep, if you can, check it out before you eat it. Especially with fast food when it's just not very good. If I'm going to sit down and eat 890 calories, I don't want it to taste like a McDonald's burger. I want it to taste like cheesecake.

late night workout!
My only beef about nighttime workouts is I have difficulties sleeping for a few hours afterwards. It's still worth it to me, as that's the only time I can work it into my schedule.

Encouragment
Try not to be too hard on yourself. There are alot of other factors that can cause a 1 lb. increase in weight. I know I went through periods of no loss, and even small gains, when I was sticking to my plan.

Keep your fluids up, keep exercising and watching what you eat. You'll get there. Don't give up.
