Exercise plan for day 1 is in the books. Completed a 9 mile run. I had a pretty good pace going for a couple miles at sub 10 that I am fairly proud of. Of course my overall pace wasn't even close to that. One area where I run includes a massive hill. Last summer, I tried walking that hill and had to stop five times before I reached the top. Yesterday I just chugged right on along without missing a beat. The bad news is I ran in my newer running shoes. I've been trying to break them in but the most I have done was five miles in them at once. Now, the outside bone in the bottom of my right foot is screaming. Followed up my nine miles with a fifteen mile stationary bike ride which sort of stretched out my foot some so it felt more like therapy than exercise. And, I skipped dinner last night since I had eaten my daily quota (and then some) by lunchtime. I was paying for my food choices last night though. By midnight I was having stabbing pains right in the middle of my abdomen. I took Zantac but it didn't seem to help. I felt like I had a brick of food protesting its departure from my stomach. I thought to myself...NEVER AGAIN. Ha. But, the truth is I know that it won't be the last day I decide to eat potato wedges and fried cheese sticks for a meal or a Waffle Taco for breakfast. I'm sure I will slip up again in the future. But I won't do it again for at least this week.

In keeping with my exercise plan, I have the 2 hour Zumbathon tonight. When I was on the phone near midnight with my mom last night belly-aching, she protested me attending Zumba. She is afraid I will take out a knee or fall and screw up my progress and training for the marathon. She does have a good point since I am status post two knee arthroscopies. But, I'm committed to the Zumba tonight. I'm just going to try to keep it low impact and carefully navigate lateral moves. I may even throw on a knee brace for extra support. A knee brace always adds extra-sexiness to the Cumbia. Samba, Forrest, Samba!

It is going to be another beautiful day outside (while I am stuck in this office)! Enjoy it FS buddies!

Aw, thanks ya'll! I couldn't always run. It just became a way to release anger that doesn't carry 20 years to life. :)

LOLOL!!! I know. I wish I could run too (and enjoy it). My doctor, last I checked, made me promise not to start running. LOL! That's another story. Of course, maybe now he won't say that. We'll see. Really though, 2MC, you're ROCKING THIS!

Well, I am nearly to the point in weight loss where the doc has said I can think about running if I want to, and bizarrely, I want to give it a go - with part of my brain and all of my past self screaming at me 'Are you crazy?' I always hated running distance at school, but now, I think I want in! Any tips for a complete novice? It's remembering to breathe (!!) that I have trouble with!
