Officially began my dieting 10/1/11, when I got on the scale and saw I was up to 246.

I am a 62 year old mom of a 34 year old classically trained musician. I am working to get rid of the excess weight I've gained over the last 20 years since I had a total hysterectomy. Hormones and hypothyroidism did me in. I have a naturopath/internist who is working with me on hormone issues. And don't let anyone tell you hormones don't affect your ability to lose.

Live in PA in the country and looking forward to moving back to the city.

Second month, only 1 lb lost
I saw something amazing today at at McDonald's. No, I didn't eat. Got a large diet soda for a buck. However, this particular one listed the calories per sandwich and per meal. That's a first. Thought... geez. One happy meal would put me at my rdi and I'd be hungry an hour later. So stopped after docs and got a coffee and bag of chips. 300 calories vs 1300.

Sorry... I don't and won't believe you can target the fat. My arse would be gone as would my pouch and a tad over the hips. But 15lb. belly fat. That's a lot and I really have to ask how big the person was. I was 246 and can say I don't have that much to lose on my gut. Please kiddies, don't be taken in by the mumbo jumbo promises.

I personally have come to terms with my Pouch. Not too awful bad and much much smaller then when I was 246. A tight pair of jeans works wonders. There are things I can live with and this is one of them.

Second month, only 1 lb lost
Okay... you need to get serious about what you eat. I looked at your diary and there's no way you're going to lose weight eating Alfredo. Even if you only eat twice daily, it's all about eating healthy. Cut back on the carbs too.

There are many diets you can find on this site. Give them a look. Get off the processed and junk food. Like the rest of us, that's what put us here.

You can do this. Take the time to look.
