Im in Shock, Well I went out and got weighed, and nearly feel off the scales in shock. When I weighed myself on 24 August I was 230 lb, and when I joined fatsecrets last week, I added on another 6 lb, I had not been able to go out and weigh myself, I was so shocked and mad at myself when I saw what I had gained in such a short time and as you would have seen in my journal I’ve really cut back, so that meant I was even heavier. Its years since I’ve been this weight.
I was so shocked I made my pal go with me to join the Cambridge Diet Clinic at other end of town , Carol who runs it is great, as I got outside the door, I remembered a new Group starting up on fatsecrets, 550 calories. (not sure of the name I haven’t gone on site yet, typing this in my own journal on the computer, so I can keep reading it, then Im going to copy it on to my fatsecrets journal. Im hoping to go away on 2nd Oct so defeating the purpose if I start it now but will think about it if I can’t get used to the stricter diet, I have used Lipotrim few yrs ago, and I was brilliant on it, full energy and was really well on it. The doctors were amazed at me. Stayed on it for 8 weeks and sorry I came off it but it was so expensive. I had a food test done by the Doc a few years ago, I come out in terrible rashes if nervous ( if you saw the rash I came out in when I saw the weight) or exercising, ( Im on 180mg Telfast antihistamine a day) it came back that I was allergic to nearly all foods, like everyone is really, and whilst I was on meal replacement meals it rarely happened. So go figure????
Well everyone from this Thursday and every Thursday I’ll be weighing myself and posting my proof in my journal. It’s the only way Im going to encourage and, yes, SHAME myself into losing weight.

Yes, shocking isn’t it, I need to lose a whole person if I go by this, I am aiming for 12 stone 9lb, I would be very happy with that, I’ve been 11 stone 4 lb before and I looked sick. Which means Im 242 lb now, and have 65 lb to lose? Do you know writing it down, the 65 lb does not seem so unachievable? Im telling you all since joining fatsecrets and having you all out there, my invisible but very much in my thoughts Angels Im after getting calmer,

(think I aged 10 yrs trying to scan the weight Receipt, had to type it all out instead, slimmed my fingers anyway)

Back in November I would have told you that losing 90 lbs didn't seem achievable at all but here I am 54 lbs lighter and under 200 lbs. I even ran/walked a 5k marathon this year and finished in 45 mins. There was a woman I passed who must have been doing just the 2k and she was running the whole thing. I was so proud of myself to cross the finish line. If I'm not pregnant I plan on doing it again next year and even have some co workers that are offering to do it too. This site is so helpful and you will get all the support you need.

Thank you. Our Mini Marathon is on next week, Ive done it 3 times but Doctor wont allow it this time, said it would be too much far my leg, but who knows, a lot can happen in a week, which I found to my cost, after today, But Yes I know with yr help and advice Ill get there. As I said, I was reeling from the shock of it, but once I got home, and wrote bout it and shared my feelings with all of you, It just seemed to become something I can and will do. Thank you and you are Angels to me

I'm sorry to hear of your upsetting dr. appt. It is a hard thing to hear. The weight is what it is, but here is the good news: you are making strides in the right direction and with the right attitude, it will only go down from here! You can do this! Focus on living the most full and healthy life you can. Do it to live your most vibrant and full life and to feel great- it means so much more than just thinking on how we look. You will become stronger every day and feel proud of yourself. Move forward from here. We will help you and encourage you. You can do this!

Likewise as lttlangel, I know in the early stages of losing, I didn't see my own goals as achievable... but certainly never gave up on that dream. I know that at the start of a journey, those lbs to lose can feel very daunting... but with continued effort those little losses do soon add up. What really helped me was to keep focusing on those little losses and totally ignore how far I still had to goal. It's fantastic though that already you don't see 65lbs as unachievable... I so wish I could have said the same in the early stages of my own losses. But it's definitely doable and I can only tell you that you will feel fantastic for it. So you just keep believing, as you CAN do this. So just keep signing in and you'll soon see those lbs dropping off nicely. I wish you every success though. :o)

Thank you, I know it will take a while to reach my goal but before I would just starve and then fail, but now with all the brilliant recipes everyone is sending in there is no excuse, Im also going to stay HONEST and not fool mysel, Thanks agin, Ill be checking in on yr food diary when I feel like slipping

if your like most people on here ..once you set your mind to gettin the weight off, dont matter what the scales say, cause that just motivates you more to watch what you eat, and drink, and makes you want to exercise any way you can to get that weight back under control again...if i can get it off, then anyone can once they decide and set ther mind to the fact that it can be done...is it hard ...yes ...but, its been worth all the time an effort i have put into it...10 more pounds an i will have lost 100 pounds, am i gonna quit when i get to that..heck no...you can do this just like me...and so many others on this site...you just gotta decide how bad you want to achieve your goal weight and then buckle down an see yourslf at your ideal weight...once you make up your mind that nothing is gonna stop you...it becomes so much easier ...cause that inner self isnt tellin you to give in...you can do this!!!!

Honesty is most definitely the best policy... hmm, yes hubby luring me to pie and chips last week! But that diet calendar really does help you at least stay accountable and I'm more than certain is the key to success. So you just keep up that tracking and you will be fine. :o)

65 lbs is just a number, don't worry about it. Just take each day as it come. Today is the first day of the rest of your life--the beginning of something great.

I can sympathize with how devastated you must have felt but you have such a great attitude and have set very doable goals. Journaling here is a godsend. The support is amazing and the tips and ideas are good. You will have the weight off in know time.
