We're back! LONG Journal…AND PHOTOS! =)

Prince Edward Island was GORGEOUS!!! So peaceful, relaxing. Every morning we would wake up with sunshine, looking out over to the bay through one window, and the ocean through another. We drove all over the island, and saw the beautiful red clay cliffs, to rolling wheat fields, that overlooked the ocean. Was absolutely perfect! Only rained one day, and even that only seemed to happen when we were indoors! Hubby was amazing! He had 20 Gerber daisy's delivered to the house on the island for our anniversary, and booked us massages for the morning (he's the BEST!)! We only had 3 television stations that came in, one was the Olympics all day long, the other was a little bit of a fuzzy station, but we could sit and watch it if we were really desperate for some TV entertainment…and the last station was all in French (hubby speaks Spanish…but neither of us speaks French!....was fun watching the Olympic coverage in another language though!). We played Travel Scrabble, and dominos, while eating Gouda Cheese (from the cheese lady on the island, soooo good!) and having frozen mudslides on the porch, watching the sun go down. We also went Raspberry picking….I love fresh fruit and veggies! Have to say though, that Island is EXPENSIVE for gas and food!

The people we rented the house from knew a local fiddler performer, Cynthia MaCleod (www.cynthiamacleod.com). We went to her performance, and they got us front row seats. Half way through the performance Cynthia singled Greg and I out, and dedicated a song to us for our 1 year anniversary! Embarrassing…BUT…so great, and just added to our magical time there.

They even had a drive in movie theater on the island! I haven't been to one of those since I was a kid, so we went and saw Tropic Thunder (really good funny movie if you haven't seen it). You should have seen the misquotes that were outside our windows! We were lucky we didn't go there with a convertible expecting to have the top down! Hahah Was so much fun though!

Saw a cool exhibit of the red clay used for sand sculptures, they were truly amazing! We also went into the old Kensington Mansion that was converted into a year round haunted house…was so much fun…that place was huge! Went into a Black Light Mini Golf glow in the dark thing too…so much fun!

We threw caution to the wind, and decided to not count any points while we were away. We did pick up some diet friendly things for breakfast and the occasional lunch, but dinner and snacking time…forget it, we ate EVERYTHING! From Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, to Lobster, ton's of ice cream, English toffee (soooo friggin good!) and of course our yummy butter cookies we had made for our anniversary. Surprisingly though…I only gained .8! I was SHOCKED to get on the scale this morning and only see my weight at 171.2! I thought for sure it would be at least 175. So that was a pleasant surprise this morning =) I'm sure our exercise offset some of what we ate. We did go bike riding one day along the National Park coastline…and had a hard time sitting down the next few days after that! LOL! We tried to walk every day, some days longer than others. We did have a great hike in the National Park that had the most amazing views.

We got back to Boston on Saturday night, and decided to eat one last "bad" meal…so mine of course was Thai food (Fresh Spring Rolls, Crazy basil noodles and scallion pancakes with Peanut Sauce), Hubby's "last meal" was a double order of Buffalo wings and a large Greek salad with extra dressing and feta…oh…and then we walked down to the store and picked up a Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Mint Ice Cream container…and demolished it. Had to…after all, Sunday was going to be our strict day! And we were….we counted all our points yesterday, and only had fruit, eggs and veggies (the corn is sooooo good right now!)

Its going to take me a few days to get caught up on everyone's journals. Luckily I only have 180 emails to go through at work (normally its at 400 from being a week away, so I feel lucky!). Hopefully my stress levels stay low, so I can enjoy the benefits from that wonder vacation even being back in chaos!

It sounds as though you had an awesome vacay!!! I love the water and looks like it would be right up my alley!! My dream vacay is Martha's Vinyard and Nantucket. I lived in Connecticut for a bit and I can't believe I didn't do that then. Of course I was young at the time and poor too. Maybe hubby and I will have to do that someday. I am so glad you had an enjoyable time though. You two really do make a cute couple!! Have a great week.
