I am a 35 year old mother of three children ages 6, 11, and 14. I am a newspaper reporter and I love my job! Currently, I am on medical leave as I will need a hysterectomy in the near future. I have endometriosis and it has caused me significant pain in the last few months-enough to be on some pretty strong painkillers which isn't good. Thus, my weight loss efforts have been stalled somewhat.

I have lost about 95.6 pounds in the last 18 months and I am trying to lose the last 14.4 pounds through intensive exercise and a clean diet.

Most of my diet has been a success because of the strong support I have from my close family and friends. As well, as the weight began to fall off and I began to lose, I found I actually GAINED my confidence back. Confidence I never knew I had for all those years hiding behind my bigger self.

I feel happiest when I am with my children and my significant other, and inspired every day with the friends I have made on this website.

I look forward to making even more friends so that we can encourage eachother to move towards our main goal: to become healthy and fit:)

Snacking late at night
If you get up very early (I get up and go to the gym around 5:45 am) then you are too tired to even be up around 9 pm....you will just want to sleepSmile Trust me, that works.

Having a cup of tea helps too.

Sore Muscles
Hey all! I am really working out hard....and have just started the Atkins Diet. I have lost about 70 pounds in the last 12 months and I have about 35 more to go...I have been in a plateau for quite a while now, and have been frustrated....(about a three month plateau).

So, I have decided to start a new plan and then up my excercise regiem. However, I have been feeling very sore in the muscles lately....

I run on a treadmill about 45 minutes. (alternating running and walking) or I might go on the elliptical trainer or bike or do an at home video AND every other day, I will do weights. I usually work out about 6 days a week. What might I be doing wrong?
