I have been an overweight kid all my life. I live in Singapore and it's very pressurizing with all these petite girls around. I battled bulimia for a few years and was even hospitalized for it. I guess I suffered from low self esteem for most of my life. I've been bashed and mocked at in my teens for being overweight... even till today, there are days that I feel ugly and fat.

I weighed 70kg at my heaviest and I'm now yo-yoing around 53kg to 54kg.. Thank goodness for this site I've been recording my food and have become more conscious since.. I'm aiming to get to 48kg (If that is even possible.. it's such a challenge for me to get my weight to drop)

I'm here to keep track of my weight and hopefully maintain this lifestyle. Exercising is no problem for me as I hit the gym 6 days a week. It's the things that i put into my mouth!

I give all glory to God for discipline and determination. Not by might, nor by power but by His spirit. I could never do this without Jesus.

Well, we're all in this together. I love that this site allows for members to give support and encouragement..

Love to all u girls! xoxo

Need advice!
goodmorning! (it's 5am here in singapore)

I think it's great that you have come so far! It's so encouraging and inspiring that you lost so much weigh from before. This journey is a challenging one but I know that you'll be able to emerge as a stronger, more beautiful than ever survivor. WOrk on how great your body is turning out to be.. weight training is great! it really sculpts your body and gives it a great shape. Plus more lean muscles = higher metabolism. As women our metabolism starts dropping with the lost of lean muscle mass at the estimated age of 25. Yucks I know! So weight training is so so impt to help prevent that.

Focus on the way your body is turning out babe! You'll see.. then you'll know that the numbers on the scale, are just numbers. Wink

Don't be discouraged! I totally understand how you feel! It's like WHY IS THE SCALE NOT GOING DOWN??? WHAT DID I DO WRONG?? when all you've done is being good!

I've decided not to be obsessed abt the weight part. Go for dress sizes and jean sizes. They are more accurate actually. If your clothes get looser, it only means you're losing fat! Which is awesome! I once had a client who was really good with her diet, trained with me 3 times a week plus cardio on other days.. & her weight increased! but her jeans and pants all got loose! She also told me she feels that her body is tighter and smaller despite what the weighing scale says..

Well, I have the same prob too.. I weight train very regularly and go really heavy on the weights as well. So I've decided that I'm not going to worry abt how heavy but I am anymore. It's kind of a relief actually.

I'm not trying to imply that you shouldnt care at all but try not to let it affect your mood. It's tough I know, but we're here for you! And we're all in it together.. *hugs*

I agree with Elizabeth and k8yk! It's really a trial and error thing as what may work for you may not work for others.. Increase your calorie intake with good quality calories.. I've just incorporated almonds to increase my fat intake. I take abt 12 almonds for a mid morning snack. Bf told me I'm not eating enough healthy fats for my body to burn efficiently. Well, he studied nutrition and is a competitive bodybuilder so I trust him. However I'm also careful abt adding the calories cos i dont want to overdo it. Almonds are so YUM. haha. That was random.

well, just try increasing a little if you're afraid. But remember to make sure it's quality calories This is gonna be a lifestyle so unless u want to be eating that little for the rest of your life I say Just Do it(!) sweetie. Smile

Lifting weights
Hey Elly, an00bis is absolutely right about free weights! They challenge your body to a greater level as it activates more stabilizing muscles which in turn helps you burn more calories during a workout.

I used to be intimidated by the guys at the gym too. But I choose to ignore them. You know, kinda like pretend that you own the gym and that there's no one there but you?.. hahaha

Hey, smart expert people that I see on here everyday! Come here!
Geesh, thanks Erin. I'm trying to get better everyday. You know, find my limit and then exceed it. Yeah preparing food the night before is a great idea! I do that everyday. It gives me NO excuse not to eat healthy the following day as I have already prepared everything beforehand.

You're doing awesome babe! Keep it up! Smile
