Hi in a nut shell...I am 46 yrs young :-) and the mother of two college aged daughters. My oldest daughter graduates in December and my youngest is a Sophomore. They both attend different colleges out of state. So to see them or for them to visit me, we have to take plane rides. Unfortunately driving will take days from where i'm located. I am greatful and give thanks to God because I was a single parent and was able to accomplish everything with his help.

I have always battled being overweight. I have the fat gene I call it. I have been on many diets, and have lost some weight on them all, but never reaching my goal. The diet I accomplished the most weight loss was LA Weightloss, where I lost 30lbs. Before starting LA weightloss I was my highest weight at 230 lbs, sadly I gained back 12 lbs which now put me at 218 lbs. The LA weightloss here in Washington went bankrupt or had some kind of financial issue, I believe if they would have stayed around I would have reached my goal,(guess I needed someone to be accountable to) but now I am starting to feel uncomfortable and want to feel good about myself again and the only one to be accountable to is myself.

I just joined the perfect gym for me. They are going on their 8th biggest loser contest challenge and it has motivated me to hop back on the band wagon in getting healthy and finally reaching my goal. The challenge is for 60 days starting on October 6, 2010 and ending December 8, 2010. My 1st weigh in was a loss of 6.6 lbs and I was dissapointed, I lost so little, but have come to the realization with replies to a post I posted that the TV shows us such unrealistic results on certain programs to lose weight.

I hope to gain friends on this site and lose pounds on this journey...Must remember this is a lifestyle not a quick fix!

Regina,

Drivers License Weight vs. Actual Weight
OH my it's funny I was thinking about my drivers license weight as well. I'm due to get it renewed in september and I was just thinking, I am truly only 7 lbs away from the weight I put down on my DL. When I actually got my DL I was actually about 220 lb (who was I kidding putting down 170 LOL, Lord forgive me Smile) I am so thrilled to not have to be ashamed of my weight and to put down the accurate lbs. I'm just thrilled...feeling great!

What's your proudest moment so far?
When I went to Old Navy and when buying a dress, already debating about buying the xlarge or the large as the x-large was a little big, but still having that mind set of buying big clothes that's what I was going to buy. Anyway, when I got to the register with the x-tra large the cashier said, "you don't look like you wear an x-tra large!" OMG I must have sprinted back to get the large LOL...I thought I would never hear I don't look big enough to fit in an x-large!

bacon vs. turkey bacon
SO, What else are we eating that we can find something wrong with it. I'm sure we can all make a list of contradictions and find an article that may or may not support it. Do what works for you.
