I am a 38 year old, married, mother of 4 beautiful children. My oldest just started college, my youngest is 2! Well, when I had my older children back when I was in my 20's, I had no problem losing my baby weight (once I set my mind to it).. Now, nearing 40, it is a WHOLE different story! Plus I quit smoking 3 years ago and gained 50lbs, and then had another baby too! I am for now, a stay at home mom, so I eat compulsively when I'm bored. So, pushing 280lbs, I decided it's time to take back control of my life! I'm very happy to be here and feel more motivation than I've had in a very long time.

I weigh my self everyday but I don't recommend it. It's a habit I just can't break.

I used to weigh myself daily... I'm trying to resist the urge now, because I discourage easily! Thanks for your reply. Smile

Weekly or monthly would be best, but it's up to you. I do it monthly.

Thanks!

How often should I weigh myself?

Depending on what diet you are following you may see a decrease in your numbers pretty quickly. For example, I am following The South Beach Diet and I lost about 5 pounds in my first week and am still losing (about 11 pounds lighter). The only thing that I would warn against is there are a number of factors that can contribute to numbers on the scale and that does not always accurately reflect your progress if you weigh yourself too often. If you don't want to be discouraged by up and down numbers, or a scale that's not moving...I would suggest weighing in once a week...and resisting the temptation the remainder of the week...HOPE THAT HELPS.
Yes, thank you so much Smile
