I have been in Law Enforcement in one way or another since 1989. I started working for The Vermont Department of Corrections at about 210 lbs. I then ballooned up to about 280. I stopped eating the third shift meal at about 2am and started exercising regularly and lost 103 lbs. Dropped my weight to 177. Really felt this weight was too little for me and like to stay around 200.
Since then, I have worked as a police officer, been married, had kids, got divorced, got remarried and now... I work as a Corporal with a police department, I am married with 2 kids and 2 step children. Life is really good, but... I keep finding my self bouncing off 240 lbs every now and again. I would really like to get down to 190 lbs and stay consistently around 200 lbs.
My goal, besides the weight, is to run a half marathon. I love to run, but really have a hard time finding the time to do it. Working 12 hour rotating shifts is not very conducive to weight loss and training.
Doing this for me, then for officer safety at work, then for my family. Without me, the family suffers. Without being able to hold my own at work, the family suffers. Without family, I have nothing.
