ChristyLA's Journal, 05 April 2014

I have no explanation for this gain, except that I went 3% over my RDI one day. I've been eating and active the same as when I was 163.4, so who knows why I'm 4 lbs heavier. Maybe the lower weight before was a fluke, because I was maintaining at 166-168 for months. Maybe this is the weight I'm supposed to be. I really don't want to eat less, and I don't think it will help either. I think this is the weight and size my body wants to be. All I can do to improve things is to be more active and workout more. I've been really sedentary the past couple of weeks, and I really should take up an exercise program again. I just haven't been interested in exercising. I'm sure I will get my motivation back eventually. I'd be fine with my weight (I'm 5'7") if I didn't have a big, saggy stomach in front. The rest of me is fine. I'm not sure why I'm carrying all of this weight at my middle. But I'm now using a natural product that I hope will help get rid of some of it. We'll see. Good luck everyone. Don't give up. I don't plan to.

I can sympathize. I'm up almost 4lbs since 3/22 and have no explanation.

You have done great! And you are doing great! I haven't come across anyone in my life who is perfectly happy with their body. This just could be water weight or your hormones playing a late "April Fools!"

"Maybe this is the weight I am supposed to be." There is great wisdom in those words.

Weight gain can can be caused for many reasons: sodium, hormones, medications, sickness, inflammation, etc. If it's making you nuts, focus on fat loss instead. If you really want to get in shape, then add exercise in to your plan. Get plenty of lean protein and high fiber foods to help with fat loss. There are some foods which help with belly fat loss (google it). Start a combo of strength/circuit training and cardio. You can get a mat on some light handweights to use at home. Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred will kick your butt in to shape (only 25 minutes). Do it 3 or 4 times a week and alternate with some cardio (walking is great). Eating the right kind of foods and exercise helps a lot. You can change your body composition, but you have to decide how much your are willing to work to get it. If you want to look good in clothes, lose weight. If you want to look good naked, you need to exercise, lol!

Everyone seems to be having these kind of occurances recently. Want to lose, weight goes up; want to gain, weight goes down. I'm going to blame it on spring.

Thanks for your comments, everyone. I truly appreciate your support and guidance. Suzi, I googled belly fat and found out some neat info that I'll be applying to my life, like drinking green and white tea, deep breathing, and getting substantial vitamin C and calcium. Thanks for your suggestions. LuC2, I'm using an all-natural body wrap that detoxifies the fat cells and helps them shrink, as well as tightens the skin and gets rid of stretchmarks. Thanks, Skwhite and JoAnne! I know myself well and I think this is the lowest my body wants to go. I will continue trying though. After all, it's for life :) Take care to you both.
