ACHOO!!!

Woke up to stoke the fire this morning with the intention of going back to bed. Then, I started sneezing. Once, twice, three times ... and again and again and again!! Apparently not only is it still COLD here (a balmy 2 degrees out right now) but now I also have a COLD? Oh bother!! That wasn't in the game plan!!

So I've had some emergen-C and I'll take some more shortly, take my greens, my vitamins and drink plenty of fluids ... right? My Emergen-C has zinc in it too so I have that covered. Fortunately I just bought a 3-pack of Kleenex, looks like it might come in handy.

Yesterday was a hungry day during the day. My calories have been very low all week so I decided to honor my hunger and up my intake. I was still well within my RDI but I thought maybe I should pay attention to what my body was telling me. In retrospect now I wonder if my body was telling me ... it was getting sick! Weight was steady today so that is good. Can't complain too much about that.

DH is still sleeping. He is always SO tired after his work week I will let him sleep. He has a memorial service today he is still trying to decide if he wants to go. Someone he worked with. I had thought about going with him if the temps were high enough to leave the house unattended but now with the still really chilly temps outside and my stuffy head I think I'm looking at a "stay in your sweats and hang out in the house" kind of day.

What else is new? Oh nothing really I think. Things at work are tense. The program I work for is WAY over budget and there are all kinds of cost saving measures being put in place that are making people tense and irritable. Most of our team are contractors, not employees, and the measures are directed particularly at saving contract funds. I guess that is a good news/bad news message. I am the ONLY full time "employee" on our team ... so no lack of work for me!!

So I'm hoping to reach 219 by the end of February/beginning of March. It's only 3 weeks now so that may be a lofty goal but it would be awesome. That's my new plan, focus on 10 lbs at a time. I've not yet noticed any changes in how my clothes fit but I am a BIG girl, 5'10" so I don't notice small changes as much as some of you more petite individuals. But, I have shed 12.6 lbs since I woke up and smelled the coffee again ... and I am feeling encouraged.

Well, it's time to pour myself another cup of coffee and see what kind of trouble I can get myself into this morning while hubby sleeps. Just kidding, no trouble here. I should "work" but I might just fiddle on the computer instead, read some journals, and sip my brew.

Today I am grateful for ...

A hearty supply of Emergen-C and Kleenex in my house.
Learning again to be kind to myself and honor my body.
The water is still running!!! YAY!!!
Buddies who are blessed enough to get to meet in PERSON!!!
Bright blue skies and sunshine ... amidst the freezing temps.
Buddies who are still here ... even after so many years (once again proof that this is indeed a journey and not a destination ... lordy how I envy those who have lost it and kept it off!!! LOL!!!)

Take care of yourselves, I'll be doing just that myself today. Ever mindful of practicing kindness to myself, listening to what my body "needs" instead of what my mind "craves", working on staying in the moment instead of dwelling on the past (ARGHHH why didn't I ...) or focusing on the future (what happens if ....) ... take care my friends!!
227.8 lb Lost so far: 31.4 lb.    Still to go: 42.8 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Despite a cold you sound very good and optimistic. I hope you get to relax in your sweats all day. Hopefully the sneezing fits are over and you have enjoyed many cups of coffee.

Stay put and get well, Carol. I hope this cold spell is over soon for both our benefits. I don't mind winter, but this one's temps have been consistently below average. Hope DH gets rested up. Good job on staying out of that cake!
