lovergirl654's Journal, 14 April 2010

Oh how 180 pounds seem so far away. I have finally reached 30 pounds weight loss, but even then there is still a high mountain to climb to get to the other side. Thinking about that gets me down sometimes, but I try to stay focused and motivated looking at how well other people on here are doing that have 100 or more pounds to lose, and even the ones who are VERY close to reaching their goal of losing it. I am sure they felt the same way when they first started and had that same long and curvy road to go, but kept on walking and can now reap the rewards of being able to stand up for longer than 20 minutes without a peep of a foot pain, not feel like they are about to die from running down the street, not gasp at the site of a roller coaster ride at an amusement park, not fear their child being as unhealthy as them, not always knowing you are the biggest one in the group no matter what "group" it is, not have meltdowns while trying on potential new clothes in a clothing store, not step on some random scale to see "E" or error, not try on jeans that fit last summer only to be reminiscent of old times of laying on the bed not breathing just to try to zippin them up this year which may work until you sit up and down...down...down...the zipper goes, and most of all, not look into the mirror and see a "pretty big gurl (person)" but rather just a pretty girl! - Ode to the future me.

Great journal entry! You have done great so far, so keep up the good job. To help me out when I get frustrated, I created a "weight loss shelf". It is simply one shelf that contains flour, sugar and rice that corresponds to how much weight I have lost. When I get frustrated, I go lift up the items and realize I have lost a lot. For me it helps to see what I have done. When I reach my goal, I will donate all the food to the food bank. Have a great day.

I totally feel you on this journal! I've felt exactly the same way. I can't wait to hear how you'll feel when the future you goes back to read this journal. Relish in your current accomplishment and know that you CAN and WILL continue. You are doing AWESOME!
