Hello everyone. I'm 25 years old and medically "obese." I have to say that because before I just considered myself fat and for some reason, I thought that was ok. But once I looked at a chart and saw that I was considered "morbidly obese," it shocked me! That's when something clicked in my head...if I don't stop, take control and change my habits, I will die at a young age. So, I started reading this book named "YOU: On a Diet" by Dr. Michael Roizen and Mehmet Oz. The book opened my eyes to what the bad food that I ingested on a daily basis was doing to my body. The physical, chemical and hormonal reprecusions of poor eating habits. After learning of all these things, it showed me that I can "reprogram my body" so that all of my healthy choices can take affect. I completely cleaned out my fridge and pantry and learned which food ingredients to avoid. Since reading the book, I have dropped 15lbs and have 170 more to go to my goal weight. I'm not sure if that weight will fit me either...I've never been a healthy-sized child, teenager or adult. So, we'll see if I have more to lose or less as I approach it. 150lbs is just the weight that is recommended for my height and frame. Here goes my journey...and I'm not looking back.
