HCB's Journal, 25 August 2012

Wifi rocks in some places we travel - so here I am to say I am having my whey protein shakes, turkey jerky and raw almonds. Yesterday, I ordered veggies and meat and avoided the rest of the crap they were eating.

Lack of usual water consumption is hard though - I am used to drinking a gallon a day but this is no easy task when in the car for about 8 hours of driving! Can't stop as often as I would need, LOL

Today I did my Jillian Kickbox DVD in the hotel room while others ate breakfast - I was SO happy because I missed three days of formal workout. I just cannot do without it! I have been going at it five to six days a week for several months and missing days in a row was painful! My little body needed to sweat and "buttkick."

Today I am grateful for:

- VACATION
- My drive snd commitment to stay on track with food plan
- My FS Buddies who support and encourage me to continue
- "Butt-kicking" myself to a smaller size today
- My DH - who is my greatest "cheerleader"
- My Bengal cat companions named Bodhi and Ravi
- My work - which has meaning and worth to other human beings
- My connection to the Mother Earth and its entire splendor
- My physical health

Ahh, that workout must have felt sooooo good! I'm so happy that things are going well for you, and that you were able to check in with us. I'm curious about the cats, too. Do you have a good catsitter or an amazing place to board them? I'll bet they miss you (like you do them) . Have lots of fun and keep up the awesome work!

Thanks for checking in and letting us know how you are doing. I enjoy reading your journals and they help with my own buttkicking LOL. If HCB can do it, so can I! :) I hope you are enjoying your vacation.

You are doing so great while traveling on vacation! I know exactly what you mean about not getting your water in while rifding in the car for long periods of time. We experienced that struggle during our travels this summer. My mother is a senior in her seventies. Their bus trip groups stop every two hours so that passengers can stretch their legs, go potty, take medication, and such. Not a bad idea! Keep up the great work!

You are doing great, I always try to get a hotel with a gym to hit the treatmill, never thought of taking a workout DVD, good job!!!I hope you're having fun, just make the best choices that you can, sounds like you are doing GREAT!!!

Good job with the food AND the exercise. I don't think the lack of water consumption is so bad when you are just sitting for long periods in the car. The lack of activity would tend to keep your needs lower, I would think. I love having running as a back up exercise because even if the place I go to doesn't have a gym or doing a dvd isn't convenient, it's a cheap and easy way to work out. The only drawback is severe weather but even a lot of that can be compensated for depending on how you dress and going at different times of day. Keep up the good work. You'll come back from this vacation with a loss at this rate!
