I am a married 60 year old Grandmother. I still work full time job as the Office Manager of a construction company. I also play "Mommy" to a spoiled rotten Shih Tzu and 2 independently minded felines. Yes - I am busy!

My way of eating is quite eclectic: I practice 16:8 IF, along with low carb, low glycemic, and low calorie foods. My goal is to develop a healthy and sustainable way of eating.

I have spend years battling my weight without ever reaching my goal. 2014 is the year I want to finish my journey.

I agree with mummydee. Since we live in the "real world" It is best to find a plan that teaches how to lose eating "real food". Develop habits that will last a lifetime.

Older women????
I am 60 and it says my RDI should be 777 to lose 2 pounds a week. While that seems extreme it certainly is true in my case. Thanks.

The Whole Calorie Counting Thing
May I suggest a Book? "The Calorie Myth" by Jonathan Bailor. Calories do count, but not the way "conventional wisdom" would have you think. The only reason I count them is to help me control the amount I eat (unfortunately, I am a natural born glutton).
