I am 31 years old, single mom of 1 boy, 1 cat, and 2 dogs. I spent my entire life eating whatever i wanted without gaining any weight. then i turned 28, changed jobs going from 12 hour shifts of constant activity to 8 hours shifts of sitting. One day i turned around and couldnt see past my big butt! ive tried south beach diet and weight watchers but had a hard time sticking to either one. A few months ago i read a book by Jackie Warner called "this is why youre fat" and somehow got the motivation i needed. i have also started exercising and feel better every week. Like everyone else i have a had my days but overall i feel ive been able to stick to this new way of eating rather well. My Biggest problem is patience! ive never had much of it and thats not a good thing when you are trying to lose weight! So i just keep telling myself to take it one day at a time!

Help! Need Motivation!!
Lana, you need some "me time"! Go for a walk, by yourself, and enjoy the peace and quiet and get some exercise at the same time.

Am I walking/running wrong?
stretch your calves after running every time. i even stretch in the afternoon on days i dont run. i also find that using a foam roller after i stretch really helps too. there are also some excercises and stretches you can do to strengthen your lower legs and that will help alot.

artichoke
So while I was in the grocery store the other day I spotted a whole artichoke and decided since I've never had a fresh one before I would try it. So now that I have it, would someone tell me what I should do with it? How do I cook it? Do I cook it?
