Hi there! I'm a 37 year old single hard working mother who has struggled all her life with dieting...Never ending battle as you all I am sure can relate. I realize what I need to do and now I believe I am prepared to do it....Its a lifestyle change not just a diet and I am committed to doing just that but would love the encouragement along the way..I came upon your site and thought wow this is great.... Would love to meet other South Beach Dieters to meet some friends along the way....And if your a single guy thats a bonus...HAHA

Couch to 5K? Anyone tried it?
Hey there...Well I am really excited. I have spoken with my Curves Instructer/Owner and she is VERY interest as well and would like to somehow incorporate this with some other members who may be interested. She was thinking of putting something in her monthly newsletter and a bunch of us could give it a shot. I am really excited and want to start but feel I should wait for the others. I currently am already working out 4 days a week so I'm not losing anything really but I am pumped to get going on this. I am bringing her more information on Monday and we can discuss it further on how to get started. I feel if there is a bunch of us who are just as dedicated then perhaps we could end with a 5 k race after completing this program. I appreciate everyones comments and tips along the way. Any ideas on getting everyone pumped with us and getting together? Motivational ideas, etc. Congratulations to all of you who have been successfull...Way to go.....

Green Jaguars, are you BORN TO BE WILD??
Sorry guys.....Today was weigh in and I'm not too happy Sad...Not 1 pound....Still at the same weigh though. I guess I'm at a stand still...Any suggestions , ideas? I chalk it up to the fact I had stomach flu this week which keep me out of the plan for about 3 straight days. Was unable to get my water intake in,, nor was I able to follow my strict diet. However, feeling better yesterday and today so here's to a new week? How'd everyone else do?

Oh by the way Evelyn64 I have to say congratulations on your determination. I too have read about the DROPPING OFF point for most people who try this program and it sounds like your not going to let that stop you or discourage you. GOOD FOR YOu.. Let me know how you make out.

PS: I am even considering posting some sort of ad to see if there are any other moms out there such as myself who are interested in doing the same thing with their son/daughter and perhaps do the RACE thing together? We will see.

Wow this is terrific. I can't thank everyone enough for the tips and adice. I agree I think this could certainly be a terrific bonding experience for my son and I. I had not thought about the fact that in the end we may have different paces and different speeds and he may not be able to keep up during the program (oh heck who am I kidding. I won't be able to keep up to him..LOL) but we will give it a shot and see. He would absolutely love to join in a race as some sort of pay off or encouragement so I am going to check into that as well. For now I think I will be on a mission to get some good shoes and perhaps a stop watch. However, my son already has one. I am definately considering downloading the podcasts as we both have MP3 players. I will keep you all posted and see how I make out. Thanks guys.

Hey guys. I am sooo glad to hear these responses. I am really pumped about it and mentioned it to my son this morning and I thought as a reward after completion we should enter a race as well? Has anyone tried the podcasts downloaded to your mp3 players? Are they free and do they actually change the songs so that you know when you should be walking/running, etc. I found a site last night that actually had podcasts for each week of the couch to 5K and well I have to say I am quite intrigued. Let me know what you guys think. tHanks
