I have been trying to get in the habit of living a healthy lifestyle for quite some time now. I will usually do very well for 1-2 months, then give up. I'm impatient. I gained weight last winter because I was in a bad relationship and terribly depressed. I've since ditched the guy and had lost some weight and was exercising regularly. However, I am now in a relationship with a wonderful guy, and had been ditching my workouts to spend time with him and taken on some of his unhealthy eating habits. He is at least open to eating healthy and exercising with me. I don't feel comfortable in my own skin right now and really want to lose at least 20 pounds. I am hoping this website will help to keep me motivated and give me some good tips.

Exercise clothing! I need help.
I have a couple pairs of Athletic Works pants that I got from Wal-mart that weren't too expensive and work alright. You might look for fabric that advertises that it "wicks away" sweat, that way it won't stick to you as bad. I get really red when I work out too. I think it's probably just a fair-skinned thing. I just take a cool shower when I'm done to bring down the redness. You might check a Ross Dress for Less store if you have them in your area. I got some Nike shorts there for like $6-7. If you don't buy the right type of sneakers for your feet then they can do damage. It would probably be best to go shoe shopping at the end of the day instead of the beginning, that way your foot will be the size it would be if you've had a regular day, due to swelling from walking around and stuff. Not only is there the possibility that you may wear a wide fit, you may also either be more flat-footed or high-arched than regular sneakers. You can buy inserts for shoes that don't feel padded enough, also. Try getting a half size bigger if your toes feel crowded. As far as the microfiber stuff, I'm not really sure. I usually stick w/ cotton for work-out undies. Do you shower right after your workouts? You might see if adding a panty liner to help absorb some sweat might help.

There are really no quick fixes or easy ways out. Sad The best thing to do is just remind ourselves that we're going to have to be patient to watch the weight come off. Trying to overdo it and make it come off too fast will just hurt our bodies. There are tips that will help a little but every body handles things differently. Lots of water and small, frequent meals will help raise your metabolism. So will building muscle. Aside from all the typical dieting stuff we all already know, it really just takes patience and persistance more than anything. Smile
