Yesterday I recorded a perfect food day for me... 68% fat, 20% protein, and 12% carbs. The scale isn't moving right now and I'm okay with that because when I measured last night, I've lost a total of 4.5 inches so far. I'll take it. I've upped my exercise regime to work on transforming my overall shape while I lose the weight. I definitely need more practice in yoga! Now I realize just how out of shape I am but that's changing too. Participating in the squats challenge, running the stairs at work daily (5-25x/day), with some yoga or power walking or moderate biking at night should get things moving in the right direction.

Food is not an issue whatsoever even at restaurants. Recently I met the girls for lunch and while they all had these big beautiful sandwiches and homemade chips I had a sausage with peppers and onions sandwich and told the waiter no bread. I asked what other sides were available and he said a garbonzo bean and cucumber salad but I'm not eating legumes now so I told him any other veggies would do. When my meal came there was the bean salad and I immediately handed it back to the waiter and said thanks but no thanks. Didn't want it and I wouldn't eat it so away it goes.

What a wonderful weekend!

To kick off the Halloween season this year I went to the movies with a couple of people to see Book of Life. It's a cute (kids) movie about the Day of the Dead, a day of celebration. Since I knew we were going I opted not to eat dinner and take snacks with me to avoid the junk there at the theater. I mixed some tasty dried berries, pepita seeds, and roasted almonds and snacked with confidence. Sooooo worth it and I didn't blow my diet.

Saturday we all went to ZombiCon... along with about 5,000+ other people in downtown Ft. Myers. The theme this year was Voo Doo and the costumes (including ours) were fantastic. One of my friends came as the Witch Doctor from Scooby Doo... so much fun! Anyway, I ate my own healthy food before we left and had a Cobb salad there and I have no regrets whatsoever. Leisurely walked for hours so no workout.

To top it off, the weather Sunday was glorious and I sat outside in the morning and enjoyed a cup of unsweetened hot tea. Later I made a super delicious and very healthy chicken and mega-veggie soup made with my homemade bone broth... tons of health benefits in that soup! Grilled some meat and veggies for the week and I'm set. After dinner I logged my foods and realized I'd only had about 1/2 of my RDI for the day... not so good, but I wasn't starving. Had some extra bacon this morning to make up for it. :)

Must get my exercise to be more regular but the food thing I have pretty much under control right now. I really do love eating the paleo way.
