Down 15 pounds in 2 months and a total of 25 pounds since I started this in 2013. It's good progress and I'm okay with it. My body is starting to change and I can feel it... clothes are not fitting the way they did before. If I lose 7.5 pounds a month just by eating healthier, that's fine by me.

My housemate is a vegetarian and her diet is terrible. She's a chocoholic and more of a pasta-tarian rather than a vegetarian (I eat WAY more veggies than she does... and the processed foods including processed soy products she eats - oh my). We talked a while last night about her WOE vs my WOE. I told her that yes, I am following more of a Paleo lifestyle but it's not strict in the fact that I eat and tolerate occasional dairy and beans. While she was making cheese ravioli in a mushroom Alfredo sauce I had a nice salad with pulled pork and avocado with 3 Clementines for dessert and she had ice cream. We talked about having gluten free pizza sometime and I said sure but now that it's been a few months since I've had any flour products whatsoever, I'm not so sure I want any now. Whole foods taste better. Whole foods are more fulfilling. Stomach bloat is significantly decreased. My body isn't as gaseous as it was before. Skin is clear again. Is flour worth it? Nope. Not in my book.

Sticking with a healthier way of eating helps to break the cycle of bad eating habits. Taste changes. Cravings diminish. Health improves. Weight goes down. Giving up processed and refined foods for life is what I want to do. Even the foods that I buy now I'd rather have healthier versions of to continue this path. Slowly but surely I'll replace regular corn/grain-fed meats with pastured grass-fed meats. It's a whole lifestyle change and it takes commitment and my health is worth it. :)

Certainly did not eat enough today. Didn't drink enough water either and 500 calories is not enough at all. It's a pattern with me... Sundays are so busy that eating enough is not a priority. Started the day by cleaning the yard of all the fallen palm fronds, tree limbs, and pine cones (filled six large trash cans plus one 12' frond). Spent 2+ hours deep cleaning my large bathroom. Cleaned the miles of tile in that bathroom including scrubbing the shower walls and doors to get rid the hard water stains from when the water system was nonfunctional. Cleaned all the mirrors, light fixtures, and base boards as well as everything else. Whew! Next I deep cleaned the 55 gallon fish tank. Buckets of water out and in plus did some "interior decorating". Tank looks great but it took a while to do. Cooked some but seriously was out of energy by the time I got into the kitchen. Should have eaten MUCH earlier than I did. Wasn't very hungry when I did eat. Still need to sweep and mop the kitchen floor and do a few other things around the house.
