I grew up in Omemee Ontario (my Favorite place in the world)…population of 500 when my family first moved there. I’m a country girl at heart.
I have always loved martial arts and have yoyo’d my weight and fitness all throughout my life. Then 22 years ago, I became a vegetarian and exercised and meditated every single day (for 18 years). People who knew me were astounded by the change, and so was I… Long story short, I was a single mother and my strict self-discipline weakened when my daughter left home and I started to ‘experiment’ with my new freedom. I started to eat fish again, then meat, drinking alcohol, then sugary foods, then processed, and so on… I knew that stopping my vegetarianism wasn’t the problem, but the fact that I had lost almost all self-discipline! I went into a self-defeating depression and started to gain weight. I returned to martial arts and accomplished a green belt as the pounds fell off. Starting to feel better about my life again I moved out west from Ontario. In 2004 I met a man who became my second husband; in 2008 we separated….I am finally out of the depression of grief and loss, and the vicious circle of gaining weight from emotional eating! I have made up my mind that this is MY time to take care of ME now!
I work in Healthcare at present and am ready to get out of it…but one thing at a time… I am really tired of shift work and needing a daytime job to have more structure. The lack of structure sure doesn’t help the weight problem either.
My Ultimate Fitness Goal is to become more fit than ever... For now, getting back into a size 7 is my exciting destination!!
