Goal Weight
225.0 lb

I did Atkins back in 2002-2006 and did great lost 115 lbs and maintained that loss maybe going up or down 5-6 lbs. I then met my husband and started eating sugar and refined carbs and gradually started putting the weight back on. I then thought that I would just go back on and only eat the shakes and bars on Atkins, restricting myself to 1000 calories a day... maintained weight didnt' lose for 8 months... then I decided since I'm not hungry in the morning I wouldn't eat till I was hungry... sometimes not eating till 9:00 at night. I am now back on induction of Atkins and am stalled at about 300 lbs going up and down 1-2 llbs.

I found an Atkins forum that taught me I wasn't eating enough and my body was in starvation mode. I started eating more and got down to 236 lbs. Then my body decided it was time to go into perimenopause and I was just going up and down the same 5 lbs

I've now had an hysterectomy as of July 27th 2011. On the 25th before surgery I started a leptin reset because my research showed me I have almost every symptom of leptin resistance.

I gained 10.5 lbs from just inflammation in the two days I was in the hospital. I am convinced though that because I started eating primal/ paleo that I managed to get out of the hospital the day after surgery instead of being there 3-4 days!

Here we go!

help with Atkins
I've managed to lose 80 lbs doing net carbs... it comes off slower but if you limit our sugar alcohols and stick with meat and veggies you'll do fine!

How to tell if you're "big boned"
Well according to that I have a large frame the small part of my wrist is 7" of course I'm 5'10.5" sooooo hence the 200 lbs goal! The thinnest I have been is 155 lbs and a size 11 junior jeans at this height! My goal will make me a size 14 misses.

Agreed I tried Weight Watchers and was hungry all the time! I love Atkins and the only thing I'm restricted from is starchy foods and sugar stuff that is bad for you and you shouldn't eat anyway!

Atkins works if you make it a way of life and not just a diet. I've lost over 80 lbs now and only have 36.5 to go till goal... if I don't lower my goal... Welcome to the club! A few tips are 1. record all food and activity and make sure you are consuming your RDI every day because if you don't eat enough you won't lose after a while.
