I'm 47 (!)...a fact I still can't get over! Have a daughter 22 and son going into college this fall. I'm single and I live in a beautiful resort area of North Florida. I think I look good for my age (stay out of the sun..no wrinkles) but I think I can look better. I've never been over weight, but since getting a little older I've found that I have to watch that extra martini or that slice of bread. So, here I am, getting back to where I should be. I'm in no rush and I work out, so I should do just fine. I'm looking forward to the challenge!

Can I eat this?
When I went to Phase II of SBD I found these great wraps and pitas that were low carb and low fat. I sometimes have a wrap with lettuce and onion with Perdue Short Cuts Southwest chicken. I feel good knowing that at least the tortilla I'm having is of the low carb variety. Other than that, I would try to avoid tortillas that are not on the low carb side...but thats just me.

Sugar substitutes on South Beach
I drink at least two diet sodas (caffeene free) a day and actually it helps me curb my appetite. At night sometimes I do get hungry and instead of snacking on something, I'll pour myself a diet soda with lots of ice and a staw and sip that. It fills me up before I have to go to bed and I haven't snacked on anything. I do have to get up sometimes in the night to pee...but thats ok...LOL.

south beach bars
I've had one for breakfast and it filled me up really well until lunch. I find that sometimes I need to run out the door to work and grabbing this and taking it to work with a cup of black coffee works well. I'm still losing and I only have one of these bars a day...maybe two or three a week. The rest of the time I have my eggs and what not. It just a convenience for me.

New Starter seeking diet buddy
Count me in as a buddy. Although this is my 3rd week of Phase I, I really recommend that you stick to it for the first 2 weeks. I lost alot of weight (7 lbs) and it really made a difference in my attitute and clothes.
