I am 28 years old with a great husband of 8 years and a four year old daughter. I like to cook, work out, read, and chat.
I have been dieting for years. I am sick of the rollercoaster, and I don't want to ride it any longer. I am in fact already in a healthy range, but I am above what I consider my "happy weight".
I am going back to Intuitive eating. I did it once before and reached my goal weight, but over time, got overly strict, and turned it into yet another diet, only eating when hungry, with no leeway for different situations or room for error. Sometimes I went much too long without eating, because I missed the opportunity to eat, since I wasn't hungry yet, then when I was hungry, food was unavailable. In the end, I got off track with my hunger signals and began overeating and trying to make up for it the next day, and it became like a diet in that sense.
I did keep the weight off longer than with any other diet, and it was easier to stick with. I know it is a more natural way of eating.
As my 30TH b-day looms on the horizon, my biggest hope is to solve my issues with eating and constant dieting before it arrives.
Even if I do not reach my ultimate goal, I want to stay with this, and not go back to dieting, NO. MATTER. WHAT.

Has anyone ever listened to these podcasts by Renee Stevens? They're really good and have helped me lose weight more easily. I was skeptical, but its not as tooty frooty as it may seem at first. Very Happy

Anyone interested in this topic, I encourage you to do your own research. Please look at both sides, not just the side that stands to gain millions by the promotions of these products. I am done posting replies now, I do have a life actually.

Most GM foods don't have any nutritional advantage.
This golden rice didn't pop up until the industry started facing opposition. Years of GM food production went by with no improvement except an increased resistance to pesticide(because pesticide was in the plant itself), and similar things.Eating a variety of foods can easily cover the nutritional bases, so why artificially insert them when they already exist in so many natural foods?

By the way, thank you for showing an opposite point of view politely, as opposed to some less than civil. I am not attacking anyone's personal views, I am just trying to get the information out there to people so they can make their own decisions.
If you don't know what is in your food, you have no choice. Genetically Modified food should be labeled, as they already are in other countries, so people can be aware and make choices from that knowledge.

Of course there are going to be opposing views. Especially publicized by the corporations that want us to stop fighting and lay the issue to rest. I don't pretend to be a scientist, unlike you. But there is a lot of evidence that these foods are not safe, and very insufficiently tested. Not only is safety an issue, but the fact that these crops can and will contaminate the other remaining species on earth.
What will life be like when there is only food from a lab? I don't like to think about it.

You can give me another long winded answer/troll attack if you want, but I won't be answering. I don't argue the existence of God with atheists, and I don't debate the issue of genetic modification with Monsanto advocates.
