I am 49 years old and was getting up there in weight again. I was under a ton of stress back in January 2010. When I went to the doctor for an ear infection - She actually told me not to fly to FL the next morning cuz my blood pressure was way too high. I wasn't on blood pressure medicine then and still not! I decided to join the gym and get my body in better shape! I was trying to lose some weight by writing everything down - I wasn't getting the hang of what is considered a protein, carbs, etc. Someone in my Team Weight Loss class told me about fatsecret.com. THANK YOU!! What an awesome site. I just log in my food and exercise - how easy is that. I will be honest and say since loggin in I have been able to see the scale go down!

I Love my Body because............
Great thread! I love my body:
1) it has allowed me to have 2 beautiful children
2) even though I have stretchmarks and scars - they are part of my history (ok - I would love to lighten the stretchmarks lol)
3) it is finally showing me results of all of the workouts that I have been doing over the past year
4) it allows me to run, go bowling, go dancing, and be active Smile
Thanks for the posting this thread so we all learn to look at the positives in our bodies!

Belly Fat
I have to agree that cardio and core exercises work best. Need to switch it up all the time on the exercises - body gets use to same old.
What are elevated planks? I have been doing regular and side planks with a dip. Side planks with a dip are similar to a push up but using your abs. They are tough but definitely worth it.

How often do you go over your set calories for the day when you workout?
Mommy3kiddos - EAT MORE!!! I was having the light-headedness too. During my workouts, I couldn't finish the sets without getting dizzy. This happened a couple of days in a row and I mentioned it to my personal trainer. He told me that I need to eat MORE. I was very leary of eating more then 1525 calories for my 5'7" mediumn frame. He recommended I go up to 1700 calories. He also said I have built up muscles and the muscles need more fuel to work. I told him I would try to do it for a week. Oh I also burn anywhere between 400 - 650 calories about 5 x a week in my trainings - HIT and circuit trainings. Well, I did it for about a week now and guess what - I'm not as light headed or dizzy and I am losing weight faster. I believe when I was eating 1525 calories my body went into starvation mode since it wasn't getting enough fuel. Try it for a week. Let me know how it goes.

Any fitness/ exercise advise needed please feel free to ask - Qualified trainer happy to help =o)
Thank you for offering your services I was wondering why I have been getting light headed during my workouts lately. I was at a RDI of 1525 calories but my trainer wants me to up it to 1700-2000. Please look over my diet calendar and offer suggestions. It isn't my TOM either. I also take a multivitamin (1 a day for Women) and Fish Oil 1x daily. Also, thyroid medicine for an underactive thyroid. Please advise.
