Just got back from a mini-vacation with my best girlfriend. I had a great time. She's been following the Flat-Belly Diet so we ate really well. Our only splurges were drinking a few beers here and there, and those were mostly light beers. We exercised together everyday too ... which was a lot of fun. I don't usually have a partner to exercise with.

Last night hubby and I went out too ... so that meant eating a bit out of the norm and of course, consuming a few drinks too ... since I have a built in designated driver!! LOL!! It was fun and overall I made good choices there too.

So ... my weight chart goes up a tad and down a tad and up a tad and down a tad ... looks a lot like maintenance right now. Since many of my size 14's are loose and I'm fitting into a number of size 12 pants I am going to concentrate on NOT complaining!! I feel good, I look good and I'm working on really accepting that the "number" on the scale does not define me. Now, I'm not ignoring the number ... just working on integrating it into the bigger picture. You know, how you feel, how you look, the way clothes fit, staying aware of what I am putting into my mouth, exercise, AND the number on the scale.

I've missed checking in with all my buddies here and am anxious to catch up on your journals. I hope all is well with everyone. We had some wonderfully warm, sunny weather over the past week and today it is overcast and rainy! A good day for catching up on my household chores and burning some Kcals on my elliptical!!

Glad that you had a good time and stayed in control. Its funny but I keep looking at that spike in your chart after your vacation and I gotta tell you that I am always impressed that you added it in there and then got back to work on it. Seems like a while back already Yes? You should be really proud of recording that entry and continuing on the journey. Now look where you are at....mini vacations without food stress....COOOOL. Jim ... thanks! I REALLY did not want to put those numbers on my chart after my vacation ... but I am REALLY glad I did. It was a turning point for me. Now, getting on the scale after a few days off, a dinner out, a few drinks ... whatever ... just doesn't seem as stressful. I feel all "grown up" ... LOL!!! Maybe, just maybe I really am learning something here. Maybe, just maybe I actually will be able to stop the huge "loss-gain-loss-gain-loss ..." cycle I've been on all my adult life. Maybe it IS safe to give away my bigger clothes. I'm not sure I would have done it without my buddies here ... encouraging me to be honest and do it. Thanks.

Girlfriend time is always a good time. Glad you had a great time. Sometimes we maintain for a while while the body adjusts.
