I am 29 years old. I am the mother of 5 beautiful children, 4 girls and one boy. I have a fantastic husband who has stayed in love with me through thick and thin, lol, pun intended. I started my weight loss journey on November 1st 2008. I weighed 254lbs. I wore a sz 24 pants.

I got lazy over the last 8 months, more so over the last 4 months. My husband lost his job and I begin to work like crazy. He took over my role as mom and I felt without a purpose. I would sit on Facebook most of the days that I did not have to work. I got fat and lazy and then upset about being fat and lazy so I ate...a lot, and not the good stuff. During this time God ask us to adopt. We started the process of a little baby from Russia. She is deaf and blind. I never thought my husband would agree and didnt think we could ever adopt. It has been stressful so instead of exercising and getting ready I sat on facebook and ate. Our door to Russia was closed and we lost our referral(our little girl). So here I am, deleted facebook, and decided enough of this. I am going to exercise and not eat so much crap. Hopefully I can achieve my goals and also maintain my new lifestyle.

Anyone doing the HCG Diet?
I dont understand this diet. What is it? I do know I tried it all, well almost it all since I have never tried or much less heard about this.

So you really have to live on 500 cals a day for a certain period of time? I know with Gastric bypass my cousin had to live on 500 cals for months, of course she lost 100lbs in 2-3 months bc she wasnt eating. Maybe she will be the one person out of 20 I know personally that wont gain it back who knows.

Im not saying I am right but I lost 95lbs in 10 months by exercising and eating healthy and within my calorie range. When I was 252 I think it was 1200 or so cals when I was 158 it was 2500 or something like that. Then honestly my husband lost his job and I ate, ate ate and worked worked worked. I skipped bfast and ate late into the evening and didnt do a lick of exercising I gained 25-30lbs back from that. I was stupid, I know that I have to eat healthy, eat bfast, not eat after 7 and exercise in order to stay fit and healthy so I am back at it.

I really dont put much stock into the fda after years of researching them, but fda or not I still dont think I would buy into a fad diet. Thats why the weight loss industry is so profitable. I wish you all luck and if or when you gain back the weight I hope you consider doing what our gramma did, eat healthy and exercise and thats free. Smile

Why isthere no change in my weight?
Looking at your journal if you are keeping accurate track doesnt look like you are eating enough. You actually are not suppose to go below 1200 and for your weight you should be eating much much more. I am 5'5 and I want to weigh 150 and I am 161 now and I should have 1500-2100 cals a day. There is a website you can go to to find out. Last week I was eating 1300-1400 calories and did not lose at all. This week I upped my calories and have lost about a pound a day most of the week.
