Hi!
Praying that everyone has been doing well here on FS!! ♥
Things have been going well. Been trying to not go into hibernation mode.
I've plateaued the past couple weeks, but soccer season is over & I have yet to fill that active void with exercise.
My husband, Mel, started the Yoli Better Body System & after 30 days he has lost 10 pounds!! I'm excited for him!
Surprisingly, our 14 yo son, Conner, has also found success with Yoli!! He has ADHD & has been on meds every day for the past 9 years. After a little over a week on Yoli he was able to focus and do well in school (FIRST time EVER that happened!!!) We've reduced his meds (Concerta) by 1/2 based on his symptoms. He is so excited about the possibility of stopping his meds altogether! He's even less argumentative & ♥'s sharing this to help other children. He even shared this at our Better Body Party on Sunday!!
You can visit my website at
www.DeborahFansler.MyBetterBodySystem.com
for more information on how Yoli can provide optimal health & wellness.
Our family is blessed to be able to share this to let you know that you do have a choice.
Have a Fabulous Day!!
:) Deb

That is fantastic news with your son!! I have a nephew who is ADD. He has gained a lot of weight. My sister is also overweight. I will have to give him your website so he can check it out for himself! Glad you and your family are doing well!! Don't forget to get some exercise in there somewhere!!

Thanks for the push, Lu! My mind says, "Yes!", but my body says, "Heck No!"

Try this, take the entire family out for a good brisk walk after supper! Does a body good!! I know what you mean about the "heck no!!" I've been fighting the onset of some chest congestion. I haven't done much exercise at home because of that, and it has gotten a little cold here the last few days and my hibernation mode is trying to kick in!! lol!! Going to the gym tomorrow though!!

Thanks for your suggestion. Wish we lived in a town to take walks. We live in the country. I'd like to do zumba on the wii. Who wants to crack the whip to get me out of my slump? Have fun at the gym! ;)

I took your suggestion and went out with my brother for a brisk walk on the waterfront

Terrific that it is helping your son. Maybe you have hit on something that might help other parents and thier children.

Great news on your son! Isn't it fabulous when you find something that works that is not medicine!

I have got to check into this Yoli stuff...not only for myself but for my daughter who also has ADHD. She is in her senior year (God bless she's finally made it this far, thats how bad it is for her). She is only little over 100 lbs so they can't up her medication anymore yet it's not strong enough dose to help her keep her mind on her work. I need it for a major energy boost; wore out after work so my workouts have stopped due to the lack of it. Thanks!

Deb, the country is the BEST place to go for walks! You don't have the breathe the exhaust of the dense traffic, you have real trees and mother nature to watch instead of shopping centers and suburbs, the breeze is more often present because it's not blocked by buildings, and crime stats show that you're a whole lot less likely to encounter someone you would rather not. Folks who live in the country are aware of the realities of farm equipment maybe being on the road, so when they drive the roads, they're keeping their eyes open better. I read a demographic that indicated that people who live in the country on average are 3X as active as people who are in cities or city-like places (townships, for instance), and tend to live longer and be healthier. So, take advantage of it! My wife and I moved to the country 8 years ago, and I am much more able to keep up with my running, for the simple reason that out here, I don't have to dodge traffic, don't have a bunch of intersections with stoplights where I have to look both ways, and it smells like nature, not like a city. It's nice to be able to throw on the running shoes and head out my own front door.

Used to live in the country-would love to again. When the shorter days came the only safe time for walks was on my days off. Loved to then. It was really really dark unless the moon was really bright and even with a flashlight the rough terrain -even the gravel/dirt roads were a sprained ankle waiting to happen. You also needed to take something along to protect you from coyotes.

Happily, head-mounted flashlights are wonderful. However, if the road is really rough, you need to go slowly. In August, I did a race-walk relay event. One of my legs was 4 miles, slight downhill, on a very choppy road, at 3AM. It was 45 degrees, which induced me to go VERY fast!!! Being a race event, I was not completely alone, although since I was on the #1 fastest team, I was ahead of most other race walkers. I was thankful to wear supportive shoes, so when I did step onto the edge of a pothole, my ankles didn't twist to the point of injury. We have coyotes in fair abundance here, but I've never heard anybody worried about them...more often, we're worried about getting too close to a raccoon's nest, and a momma can be very protective. But, you got me curious so I Googled "Coyote attacks on humans". Wikipedia says they're very rare, because coyotes are fairly small (smaller than a German Shepherd). 160 total reported in the US in 30 years (about 5 per year) most in California. I know how to handle angry and aggressive dogs, so I know the communications methods, but if I were worried, I suppose a can of mace would be a good deterrant. You can get them that hang on a cord around your neck, right? The other thing you could do is wait until well after dusk; coyotes hunt primarily at dusk and dawn, because that's when their prey tends to be active. Owls are the night-time hunters. I've gone jogging 'round here at night, and I will say that I much prefer it when there's some moonlight. In fact, I absolutely LOVE that kind of lighting, not sure why. I'm fortunate currently in that my country roads are paved...or rather, chip-sealed, so as long as I don't veer off into the ditch, there's little to worry about.

They'd come up to the house and onto our front porch, killed 3 of our goats, and we think several cats kept a shotgun in the kitchen with shells atop the cabinets to scare them off. Even though attacks are rare they were a threat and rather scary at times. No one around really walked much at night. The head mounted flashlights would probably work pretty well. I now live in the city-- I walk inside when it's dark.
