Busy life. You can tell by site name I like whole foods. I love to cook all kinds of natural foods and delve into many cuisines.

I work full time as a customer service rep for a mutual fund company. I'm also a professional long-arm quilter and quilt quilts for people. A side part of that is selling the longarm machines doings some teaching, and sell a few supplies. Quilting is a passion.

I am currently single with 9 grandchildren. I spend alot of time at grandkids sports events and in the summer attending mud runs as one daughter and her husband race. I'm slowly remodeling my house and most of the year work on my yard and gardens one of these days I'll get both so I'm happy with them. I always seem to be tearing something apart. By losing weight and getting back into shape I hope to be able to keep up with my life without getting so tired and be able to do more of the things I like to do.

Shhhh! It's a Secret
Sarah, that's how I am. Most of the close associates I know at work know I try to eat healthy. Today we are working through lunch and they are bringing in the usual pizza. I'll skip it and eat what I brought. You can do healthy pizza but this stuff isn't. Trying to boost my exercise to lose wt but it is hard with asthma issue flaring up this time of year/

I hope you do well and ignore your Dad's comments and do whatever works for you to be healthy! I just had to put my 2 cents in last night. Also what works for one person doesn't work for another.

Sorry that your dad was so unsupportive "foodie" doesn't mean you can't eat healthy!!! I've been a "foodie" I guess for 40 years--long before it was popular.. Love cooking and eating all types of foods--still do. Just ordered a pasta machine to learn how to make pasta. My friends and family think I'm nuts cause I buy cookbooks to read. I have also eaten healthy most of my life and have never been one for lots of fast foods,junk foods or deserts. You can eat awesome good food and lose weight. I gained my lbs due to the meds I was on for several years and a completed change in my job from very active to sitting at a desk so the lbs snuck on. Not cutting out any specific foods just watching the calories and exercise.

Staying Motivated with Pain
Maybe try to stay away from high impact. They are tough on the knees ankles and other joints. Had major leg surgery in 1986 doc vetoed running, jumping, high impact aroebics. My body has also been hurting, much arthritis. I find walking on my gazelle for 20 min in am helps my whole day no matter how much I hurt in the am. If it's a pain day I just go slow until I can speed things up.

Also trying to get at least 7 hrs of sleep each nite as studies have shown lack of sleep inhibits wt loss and it's also not good for my fibro flare. ...
