I am tired of the plataeu and extremely slow decline! I've been on the eliptical every night this week + last weekend 15.5 miles on that bad boy since Saturday. This weight is coming off! I'm tired of playing! I need to be lean and I need to stop letting food control my life. Food is fuel not comfort. 170 or bust!
197.8 lb Lost so far: 32.2 lb.    Still to go: 27.8 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

I totally feel your pain!!!! I'm on the treadmill 6 days a week plus, I do other exercises on the side AND I watch what I eat... this weight needs to hit the road! I'm beginning to HATE food!

starting on may 3rd I talked to my doctor well actually I cried to my Dr. which is a female by the way, I told her that I cant take it anymore that I have been trying to lose 60 lbs for 19 years I need help!! She told me she would help me she put me on phentremine which is the safe part of phen phen it boosts your metabolism and is an appetite suppressent, now Oct. 2nd 5months later I have lost 34 lbs I have went from a size 16 to a size 10 I havent felt this great in years, the pill is not the only thing though I started power walking with 2 lb dumb bells first 1 mile then 2, now I am up to 3 miles about every other day it is the best form of aroebic activity and the best way to tone your bum and thighs besides it is the easiest, dont just walk, power walk fast and put your arms into it. I will most likely post a before and after pic later, I also walked for about 2 months with 2.5 lb ankle weights, now because it is getting colder out I am using an eliptical machine and a power rider and lifting weights every other day watching my diet somewhat but mostly eating smaller portions of my favorite foods, try eating small portions every 3 hrs to keep your metabolism high and drink lots of water even if your not thirsty try this and I guarantee you will lose the weight fast even without the pill, I did it and I never ever thought I would lose this weight, the walking really helps it gets rid of stress and you feel great, dont walk with a dog just by yourself so you can consentrate on walking and have music I would've never been able to do it without my mp3 player, The atkins diet didn't work for me when I went back to eating normal I gained up to 188 now I am 154 and I can eat whatever I want pizza chocolate cake as long as I watch my portions and eat it in moderation and dont overeat and you can do it too, anyone can you dont need a diet, it is the same concept of the surgery shrinking the stomach which is what I am doing by eating small portions I didnt need to have surgery though to do it but I had to contol myself and be disciplined and stick to it, and I am never hungry.

Maybe you could try mixing things up with carb cycling for a few days as you are on atkins, it works for me. Hang in there! (O:

Over 32lbs already!! And your decline is gradual but ROCK steady. That is something to be proud of. It's frustrating, I know, but keep to it and the losses will come.

Thanks everyone!! Lori..Amen sister! Hit the road and don't come back! Hazel.. I have read allot about phentremine and my sister in law is taking it currently. I know someone who had a heart attack and died at age 32 because of phen phen and while I understand it was the combination that made it deadly, I personally don't feel comfortable with being on a pill. I'm happy that you have found success in taking it! Kaz..what is carb cycling. I must have missed that chapter in the book. Thanks Sima I guess it's hard to see the big picture of overall success when results are so gradual. Thanks for the reminder!

Well, be glad you are at least still losing. We've all met with that frustration. Just keep at it and you will meet your goals.

Carb cycling is not in the book it is an article I found on another low-carb site. You can read the article in the October CCC forums and responses we got about carb cycling from Paige's doctor friend who used to work for the Atkins institute. It is very interesting.
