Change of pace today; out of the office and off to the Sioux Falls campus. Treated myself to a small skinny dolce latte at Starbucks - good thing I'm not near a Starbucks every day! Ate lunch at the hospital, looks like the cafeteria has quite a few healthy options which will be good as I'll be eating there on a daily basis for awhile in a few weeks.

Picking up on a few negative vibes from hubby about my new lifestyle.... he misses our Friday night outings to meet friends at our local eating establishment/bar, so I will need to learn to incorporate this ritual back into my eating plan. I think if I just stay away from the wine completely I won't go over board on the eating. All of our socializing with our friends centers around food and this will be a big challenge for me to change my behaviors in this situation.

I hear you on the socializing and the impact of permanent changes in lifestyle. One of the things that will make it easier is to ask your favorite place to make a change. You will be surprised at how accomodating they will be. I love to go to the Goss coffee shop here in Watertown and they have so many temptations. But, I asked them if they could offer a fat-free, sugar-free fruit smoothie and they were very accommodating. That is what I always have there now and I look forward to it. I always have raspberry! I can still meet friends there and have a guilt-free treat! You have an advantage in that your Friday night outing is not a chain - they are really more accomodating. Remember to save your 35 points for Fridays! Good luck!
