Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 04 August 2014

This morning I decided I'm just going to stay pregnant. For one.. I'm in denial that I probably have about 2 weeks left or 18 days if you go by the due date. I bought diapers and all the necessary things that go with feeding and diapering a baby but that is about it. The infant clothes from little man? Still in a box in the attic... I think. I should probably find those soon. Plus being pregnant has some serious perks. Men get off my favorite elliptical in the gym when they see me walk in. My parking spot at work is amazing. It cuts 10 minutes off my time getting to my office. And.. people want to feed me whatever I want. Currently it's watermelon. Lots and lots of watermelon.

This afternoon.. I'm done. Stick a fork in me. My legs are cramping up. I have a butt cramp in my left butt cheek that will not go away.. and I'm not positive but there seems to be a kneecap trying to force my ribcage beyond its limits. Oh and I gave up my dreams of watermelon for tums. Lots and lots of fruit flavored tums. I think I may name this kid Tyson. By the time he decides to arrive I will have felt like I went a few rounds with Mike Tyson so why not??

I did manage to go to the gym. Only 2 weeks left in my membership before it runs out. I managed to eat well.. well ok not well.. but I didn't dive head first into any candy bowls at work. Now if they had watermelon flavored candies it would have been a different story. And I've managed to guilt myself into not phoning it in by reading The Body Book while I worked out. I got to the chapter where everything in life is earned and that includes your health or fabulously sculpted butts. All I gotta say is the post pregnancy photoes after this one is born better be fabulous. I have the idea to take weekly photos after this birth to document getting to my goal weight of 130. Actually.. I think I will start now. It will make the after much more shocking. Especially that whole initial after baby weight loss. Hey.. a girl needs all the motivation she can get when she's staring into the creamy chocolate goodness of cake or ice cream.. or well just about anything that is technically not great for you. I'm going to find motivation where I can. And a butt cheek massager. I need something to get the cramp out of my butt cheek. Hubby is getting tired of the constant requests to rub my butt.

How many pounds did you gain after your first pregnancy and did you also exercise then? I'm sure you'll be looking fit again soon. It's great that you're so active.

So what will come first, the baby or the end of the gym membership? Are you trying to finds a name for that too? Terminato, maybe?

Watermelon is delicious and Tyson is not a bad name at all.

The Body Book is a good read! Kudos to you for getting to the gym! Your body will really bounce back quickly. With both pregnancies I took pictures once a month beginning at 3 months pregnant, they are really cool to have, but I didn't take any post pregnancy pics lol. My favorite pregnancy picture is my son kissing my 9 mo pregnant belly with my daughter. I did it in black and white and its hanging in my living room :)

You're just amazing. Still going to the gym, even when you feel like you've gone rounds with Mike Tyson, awesome! I think Tyson would be a cute name too. Also, the reverse pregnancy pictures are a great idea! Maybe you could take them like pregnant women do only in reverse. Hold up a sign that says 8 weeks out, 20 weeks out, etc. Then maybe it will help keep you motivated because you'll have the picture to pose for. :)

Cool idea taking photos. awwww too bad about the butt cramps, that can affect your whole leg. Maybe Tyson is trying to get in position and pushing on nerves which can cues cramping that nothing much will help till he wiggles a bit more. At least craving watermelon is good for you.

snexica - This is my third. I think with my daughter I gained about 20 lbs and it all dropped off within 3 months. I never exercised before, during or after though unless you count taking the dog for a walk. With Little man I gained about 35 lbs, again I never exercised. I did do barn chores the entire time though so I wasn't sitting on my butt eating cookies the whole time. I think I lost all that weight within 6 months. With this one I've exercised about the whole time. I think I slacked a little in the second trimester when I was too exhausted to care. It will be a fun experiment to see if this pregnancy is different than the other two. I know my blood pressure is alot lower with this one despite chasing a toddler though. lol

I saw a fact this morning I meant to send you; it read 'when a pregnant woman swims, she's basically a submarine'. It took me a while to stop thinking 'why, that's just mean' to finally get 'oh, yeah, she's taking a live person under water and keeping it alive' and thought 'how cool is that'. Maybe you can take little Tyson for his submarine ride in the next 2 weeks to 18 days to five years or when ever you decide to evict him.

Hmmm... All the things I am still not missing about being pregnant. I am always so nervous about giving birth because I remember how bad it hurts. But the feeling of meeting your little one for the first time is an indescribable joy. :)
