cyd69's Journal, 12 April 2014

Today is Saturday and first day of fishing. I took the boyfriend fishing and then I went to Curve's to do body basics. It is a beautiful sunny day out and I did some digging in the garden. My seeds that I planted last weekend are coming up like crazy. I have like 19 green bean plants and counting. They say to put 5 seeds together in case some don't come up but mine always seem to come up. Next year I am cutting back. I have had a pretty good week so I hope that everybody else has too.

Sounds like a great day! I'm in an apartment but have a balcony. So, I've got a few pea plants, radishes, lettuces and spinach (along with some other plants) growing. I got to sit out in the sun for a few minutes today and just listen to the birds and enjoy the balcony and soak in some r. Spring is my favorite season (until Fall comes around anyway).

I'm so jealous!! The weather is beautiful here, too, but I'm sidelined by a foot injury so I can't get outside to enjoy it. Doctor says I've gotta stay off foot for 2-3 weeks.

Jealous as well. I have perennials coming up and a few herbs. I should have some lettuce, onions and other greens planted. May toss some in somewhere today in between rain storms. Yesterday was 82 on my car's gauge tomorrow they are predicting winter mix and snow. Too early for beans or other frost sensitive plants this year, cold spring this year.

My plants are in the house, I started them from seeds. today in Pennsylvania it is calling for it to be in the 80's today but I am waiting until after the last frost before they go in. This week we are planning on putting in onions. I got the yellow and the red onion seeds. It just really feels good to grow them from seeds.

That's great! I have basil started, that's all. Our average last frost is April 15 here in Kansas City. Last year we had snow in may, killed everything I had planted. This year it is late as well, even the perennials are popping up late as the soil is still cold. I'm putting in some raised beds this year because my soil is so bad, I'm tired of fighting it to grow anything.
