First stop, Journal. Then I will be on to reading and catching up w/ you all.
WOW!!! is an understatement to the TRIP of a LIFETIME! As soon as I can get a couple of pics on here, I will. We left home on Sept 6th - hubby was feeling great (back to normal - thank God!) and stayed feeling great the whole trip!!!! We flew from Boston to Paris, then on to Naples. This is a long travel day - then picked up by a driver and we went to Pompeii for an afternoon of pic's and sights.
During the drive over to the Amalfi Coast we stopped for a 'snack' at a Cafe/Bar overlooking the Mediterranean. WOW!!!! Breathtakingly beautiful.
On to our hotel - OK - WOW!!!! Breath takingly Beautiful!
From Rovello, Amalfi, Positano, Capri, Boat rides, Trail Walking, Villages w/ Wine... OH MY!!!! AMAZING! Then on to Paestum, Vesuvius and back to the airport.
The return trip gave us enough time to leave the airport in Rome. We again had a driver who took us to the Trevi Fountain in old rome center, and the Colosseum, a ride around Rome to see some highlights and for pics...then an amazing dinner, back to our room, then off early to the airport again.
We left for a layover to Paris, then as we were taking off back to Boston... we saw the Eiffel Tower from the plane!!!
OH MY HEAD!
Just pinch me.... can't even begin to describe it all, but what an amazing adventure. The people were so nice, helpful and just simply warm. The food was delicious... the settings to picturesque. A lot of outdoor eating (which I love!). The narrow roads and the cars/buses a bit scary but fun! It was all just so romantic and beautiful and WOW!!!
But to be honest... hubby and I both commented how we never want to be on vacation again where we are thinking...'Wow, I look terrible in that pic..' So, back to the low carb way of eating, exercise and getting this back in the right direction!
I have about 8 months until our next BIG vacation - our 25th Anniversary, and we both agreed we would use that as our motivation to be in better shape by then.
All in all, I wouldn't change anything. It was literally...A TRIP of a LIFETIME!
Much Love.
