- I teach adults how to lose weight FatSecret style.
- I teach kids to rock and play LOUD.
- I often teach kids AND use bad language at the same time.
- I believe in generally being a nice guy, unless someone ticks me off.
- I try to practice what I preach.
- I help ill people in my daytime job.
- I love making a difference.
- I know a lot about losing weight. I know less about MAINTAINING weight. I'm currently learning this.
- I love writing lengthy journals here on FatSecret.
- I will occasionally say or write things that other people may not like or even find offensive. Rest assured, no offence towards you direcly is ever meant.
- I'm a nice guy, but I have strong opinions. Please don't confuse the two.
- I am a huge fan of common sense.
- I love helping others lose weight.

- I like helping you with your weight loss issues.
- I love my gorgeous wife and daughter.

What do you have to be thankful for in life
I'm thankful to come home from 5 days on vacation in Paris, without losing focus on my foods and health, walking everywhere, and coming home weighing a kilo less than when I left. Smile

Long time absence - little accomplished :-(
IMany times it seems like our lives are spiraling. Yours has clearly been spiraling downwards, and and I'm sorry to hear about your hardship. It's no small thing to come out okay on the the other side of what you've been through.
As Spacey4 says, this thing works. Use it as much as you can to regain control of this part of your life, and many times control over other parts will follow, and you will slowly start spiraling upwards.
I have experienced this myself, from being morbidly obese, feeling crap all the time, unemployed.
I am not fit, happy, have multiple jobs and a life that is better than anything I have ever dared to even dream of.
I'm nobody special and I have accomplished nothing more than what anyone else can do by using these tools and the opportunities that life has given me.
I know you can do the same.
I wish you all the best of your journey. You're not in it alone. There's an ARMY of Fatsecreteers here rooting for you and ready to help.
Make sure to keep it simple. There are no shortcuts, not the right way is really easy enough when you get a grip on things.
Register all you consume. Consume less calories. Move more. That's it. Rinse and repeat.

First day thoughts
It doesn't really have to be hard work. Seriously. Calculate how many calories you can allow yourself, register EVERYTHING you consume, move around as much as you can. Then you'll lose the weight.
Make sure you aren't too hard on yourself, and don't feel intimidated by the whole thing. Have fun with it and use it to learn about proper food choices, and about what you can afford to allow yourself when it comes to food.
You'll get there.

What do you have to be thankful for in life
Today, I'm thankful for having a good grip on conscious eating. Yesterday, I had allowed myself 3000 calories, and it was my Indulgence Day and I'm on vacation, but ended up having only had 1100 at the end of the day. This is the focus I want and need for the rest of my life. Eat what I want, when I want, eat it consciously, and stay out of trouble. Life is good!
