I am so proud of myself! Yesterday, I decided to make myself a homemade pizza to eat during superbowl. I had a pre-made crust that was organic and whole grain. I got it from my local natural food store. I spread a little olive oil over the crust, then spread a combination of sugar free spagetti sauce and tomatoe paste over that. Then...I dug out stuff from my fridge, like fresh SPINACH...YES, the dream worked! LOL I also added a slight amount of almond jalapeno cheese, fresh mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, a bit of chopped garlic, and some chicken slices, followed by a light dusting of parmeasan cheese. I couldn't beleive how good it was! I munched on it here and there throughout the game. I still have part of it left for lunch today. I also had a couple of drinks before I ate, sugar free, alcoholic. Just my 18 month old daughter and I were home to watch the game and we had fun! Of course she kept looking at me when I was yelling, cheering, and clapping, like I was suddenly a crazy woman...but she still had fun. lol
AND, the BEST PART is that I didn't feel deprived, I looked forward to my pizza, and didn't gain a pound! I also drank water throughout the day. At one point in time, I told myself "This is what changing your lifestyle is about...and it ain't that bad!"
OH! I also went to the gym first thing yesterday morning. I was getting excited while working out cuz they had big tv's on the wall, in front of the exercise bike, with pre-superbowl show stuff. Very fun day, I'd say.
I also got a nice big pot of soup made for the week and a nice SPINACH salad made up ahead of time! Yep, that dream again! LOL
Here's to a happy Monday! Go Porches!

I made a sugar free mojito. Yes, it had real rum in it, but the flavoring was all natural and I used xylitol as a sweetener. I "used" to be a heavy drinker...2 drinks a day, in the evenings. And, all my drinks were usually loaded with sugar or heavy syrups. I've done a bit of research and finally found a drink that I can enjoy once in a while and have made it as sugar free as I possibly can.

Isn't it "rewarding" AND exciting when you reach that point that making healthy choices feels GREAT and is becoming "natural"? I'm still on that "high".....I NEVER thought I'd EVER see the day where I am fully conscious about my choices and consistently make good ones. KUDOS to you.....Was just me and the dog home for the game last night.....He also thought I turned into a "crazy woman" when I jumped up and down and was "screaming"......lol....we also had fun!!! GO BLACK PORSCHE'S..... Keep the HAMMER DOWN all week!!!! Saturday's coming.....Huggies

Congrats on the pizza miteslur. I have never made a pizza and reading your account about the "dream" is inspiring me to make one too (there was an Italian recipe in the Challenges that looked simple and very good too. :-)
