On track today.

Worked out first thing in the morning (8 am or so). Did 60 mins total (30 mins on elliptical, 15 mins bike, and 15-20 mins weights--increased the weight to 12 pounds today). I think I need to increase the level of ALL of my workouts, and push myself harder---my body is really getting used to everything and I don't feel like I'm working it enough. For example, all those dvd segments from yesterday, the abs crunches, the resistance band---and yet, no soreness today!! Either I'm not doing them right, or I'm not pushing myself enough. Same deal with weights. I've been doing them more or less for 5 months, and yes, I feel some hardness at my biceps' area--but no real definition yet. I don't see much definition on shoulders, triceps etc., either. So, I need to increase the weight--I'll do so with 12 pounds, even if I do fewer reps (I can do more sets instead--and really push myself to at least do 8 reps with the highest weight I can manage, e.g., 12-15 pds).

And about time I started the lower body workout---lunges, squats, etc. My friend has been using the resistance bands WITH weights, and started to see results in about a month or so, so that's what I need to start aiming for, if I want to see any muscle definition.

Other than that, rest of the day was ok. I was going to a happy hour thing with my girlfriend and two cute guys this evening and I wanted to look good! Well, since I didn't like how I looked in my summer dresses yet, I opted for jeans and a cute top instead. Good choice--since I felt so much comfortable in those jeans instead of fidgeting around in a dress I didn't feel entirely comfortable in!

I must say, I actually liked the way I looked!! And damn, that felt good!! At the happy hour, I was in my element! I was feeling good--physically and emotionally, and that must have radiated out. I was relaxed, witty, funny, charming, and fun--even if I say so myself! :) And we all had a great time! We'll be seeing these guys again---they want to do a lot of other events with us...so, right on! The benefits of working out are great, indeed!

Food-wise, I'd done well on points earlier in the day and had some to spare, but I ate a little before going out, and decided not to eat any appetizers at the happy hour, and just have the wine, so I indulged in 2 glasses of wine. I came home and was peckish, and it wasn't too late, so had a veggie patty (high protein and fiber) and a rice cake, and a liter of water. Overall, I'm still within my points. Looked like I'd gained a pound this morning, but that is definitely due to TOM. Hopefully tomorrow won't show a gain due to today's wine. Well, at least, I don't LOOK bloated!! I am really starting to like my thinner face--it actually shows I'm losing weight!!

Other than that, here's the breakdown of meals and points:

Cereal and soy milk (3)
Almonds (2)
Vegi burger (2)
Tofu (2) stir fry with oil, soy sauce, shilli sauce, corn starch (1) and almonds (1), w/ fresh basil
Coffee with milk (0.5)
coffee with milk (0.5)
2 glasses wine (4)
2 ricecakes (2)
1 piece chocolate (1)
vegie burger (2)

Total: 21

Well done with the exercise, eating and staying in control! Good to hear you had a night of fun and it certainly doesn't hurt that cute guys were involved ;) I got my early workout done today, too!

very good day you had...and sounded like a fun time too! made me jealous! All I did was roll around in the mud all day, pull weeds and lift heavy objects! LOL (you shoulda seen the bottom of my shower!)

Is there ANY better feeling that knowing that you are looking well, happy with your lot and in a 'groove'. That sounded like one brilliant Happy Hour... hoping that it kinda spread out to more than just an hour. Is that a recent bio pic???? tis really radiant:)

Great pic, you look happy and healthy and pretty too! I'm the same way, I like to wear dresses but always feel more comfy in jeans. Glad you had a good time! Oh, and great job on the work outs.

Way to go on the self-confidence! Some people have to really cut their body fat percentage to get definition in their muscles. You aren't going to necessarily show definition like your friend. I have to get down to 20% body fat to get definition in my upper legs and less than that to get definition in my arms. I have never had a six-pack, even when I was too thin in high school. It is about body structure more than how hard you are working. Hormones have a bit to do with it too. Just go for a healthy look. :)

Great going with the exercise on your marathon workouts the last couple of days... but don't go over doing things will you! ;o) As for muscle definition showing up... I am sure you will see eventually. It's only within the last 10-15lbs or so that muscles have really shown up in my arms and shoulders... lol, still yet to appear in my stomach... hmm, if ever! But hopefully it's under there somewhere! I for one though never increased weight in dumbells... just worked out every other day with either weights or resistance band. Now I've got the opposite problem and need to lay off so much resistance training and elliptical to let my stomach catch up! You keep up the great work there though... all those efforts are showing in your new piccy. You look fantastic girl!! ;o)
