I'm 58 years old. I had breast cancer 14 years ago and since ate everything I ever wanted and more. I called it my "c-food" diet: cookies, cake, candy, etc. Now I need to lose that 80 pounds I put on. It's time to stop blaming my cancer, stop feeling sorry for myself and take this weight off. I have already lost 10 pounds in the last month through diet and exercise. Am looking for encouragement and goals.

leg cramps
Thanks for the great suggestions everyone!!! I have watched "Forks Over Knives" twice... great advice. I then went off all Aspartame and sugar. I have been looking for a good Nutritionist, but am really nervous about lack of credentials/background Nutritionists have. I will look for a Holistic doctor or a DO (what is a DO?). I just don't understand how doctors must take an oath to "do no harm", and then dispense the bad drugs with full knowledge of what they do to their patients.

leg cramps
How do you find a doctor to suggest prevention, like vitamins and healthy eating ? I have been through cancer this year, and every one of my doctors want me to take drugs and severe treatments. i'm finding my way through natural (whole foods) eating, but i'm doing it alone. Wish there was someone out there that cares for the whole body and not just dispensing more drugs. I feel like i'm the only one with this problem.

leg cramps
Thanks. I'm getting the hang of this now. Increase stress level and something's gotta give... and in this case, leg cramps. Now I need to find a good source of calcium.

Looking for a buddy
Hi Jackie,
My name is June. I don't have as much weight as you have to lose, but I need a buddy to help and to help me.

I Hate to See People Setting Themselves Up for Failure With...
Trying to push your weight loss to such an extreme of 5 pounds every week is unrealistic, because your life changes everyday and every week. For example, I have to go out of town for 5 days in September, then again in October and then again in November. My eating life gets crazy when I'm on the road. However, I think I can keep up a one or two pound weight loss per week, even on the road.
