The program "21 DFX" and I definitely have a love/hate relationship. It's great progress but I don't look forward to it. It's tough but ultimately it appears to be worth it. I'm doing great and continually sore. LOL. Only 4 days to go then I'll likely be moving to Insanity! Woo! Never thought I'd be excited about saying that! Have a great weekend all!

Enjoying my progress lately although I came down with a small 24-hour cold over the weekend. It cut into my desire to exercise and instead slept in this morning. I will still be hitting the "21 Day Fix" program tonight as part of my challenge that's starting today! Anyone in on a Beachbody workout?!
I hope to see the 180's in a week or so! I can't believe it since I haven't been this weight since my teens!!

Trying to hit the 190 mark by my birthday, April 3. We'll see!
Anyone else doing Beachbody programs or interesting in trying them? I'm doing the "21 Day Fix Extreme" right now and today was the first time I felt good about it (did "Dirty Extreme"). Sure, it's only Day 5 but it's been pretty killer to this point. They aren't kidding with the "extreme" moniker. Since I've been eating paleo-ish I didn't feel that the diet portion would help me much but it's pretty decent although a tad bit skewed from what I'd normally eat. A bit more fruit and a bit less fat. If this is what it takes to get ripped then I'm all good! (insert evil laugh here!) ;)

As of yesterday I started the Beachbody "21 Day Fix Extreme" program with my wife.
She's been doing it for about a week longer than I have and it's been great for her so I decided to join. I was doing P90X3 so wanted to try something different. I had taken a break for about a month from the day-to-day routine and, wow, I can feel it. They're not kidding when they say it's "extreme". It's not so much the exercises, since I've done them all before, but the pacing and single-minded focus on working specific body parts is pretty killer.
Don't get me wrong, I love it. Here's hoping the 21 days brings some results!

Happy Monday! This weekend was a bit rougher because I've been experiencing stomach aches quite often. Whenever I would eat I would get a stomach ache. Upon reflection I realize I probably screwed up my gut flora because I was messing with resistant starches to feed gut bacteria. I also was messing with Betaine HCL. I think I created an imbalance so I'm back on probiotics. I definitely noticed the difference almost right away but the pains aren't completely gone. I have preached about maintaining gut health but I get focused on prebiotics and neglect adding the healthy flora back. Hopefully by this time next week my inflammation will be gone and I'll be back on track.
The problem with the imbalance, too, is that it causes cravings as well and I'm hungry all the time. I'll be happy to get this straightened out.
LOL. I need to stop experimenting. :)
