I am a 29 Y.O. NAVY Veteran and single mother of a beautiful 8 Y.O. little girl. I am a New York City Native currently living in Morehead City, NC :( I started gaining weight shortly after getting out of the military (due to stress of finding a job and depression); I went from 155 lbs. to 201 within 4 months. I moved to VA (for school) and was excited about my future; I lost 16 lbs. while out there, but moved back (to NC) upon graduation where I've been ever since (2008)and I haven't found a job in my field (or any good job) yet and became depressed again, which caused me to go from 185 to 220 (where I am now). I went to see a nutritionist about 3 weeks ago, and was told that I'm borderline diabetic (which diabetes runs in my family) so I decided now the excuses stop; I have to get back into shape.
Since then I've lost 5 lbs. yay!! and have changed a lot of my eating habits and am slowly incoorporating physical activity into my daily life. Hopefully this group can help me get where I need to be to live a better, healthier life and maybe go back into the military.
