My diet will stay the same, but my new exercise program will focus on weight training. Having a new focus should keep me motivated on my diet plan also.

I have been running at least 3 miles a day every weekday without fail. I've also been very careful about recording EVERYTHING in my diet calendar. According to it, I should be down 5 lbs. by now. How is it that I've gained four pounds?!?!?!

I've decided to go about this a different way this year. I haven't weighed myself since well before the holidays, so I have no idea what my starting weight was. I have vowed not to weigh myself. Instead, I will measure my success based on the number of days per week I work out (the goal is 5-6), and on my diet journal. So far, so good! After so much trial and error, I know this is the only way I can stick with it and not get discouraged. Not only do I feel great, but I'm proud of myself based on my accomplishments rather than a number.

No Diet Coke this weekend. 100% pure grape juice instead. I can see that worked well. *sigh*

Sooo..somehow I've lost two pounds without really trying my hardest. I'd all but given up, as you can see by looking through the last couple weeks of my diet journal. There are three things I've done differently, though:
1. Purposely sleeping in a couple weekdays each week even if it means I only work out 2 or 3 times that week.
2. Eating oatmeal at work instead of instant breakfast before I leave
3. Being slightly more conscious of chemicals from plastic, pesticides, growth hormones, etc.
